I have a 2017 Tradesman 4x4 with 42k on it. I had the actuator replaced under warranty about 10k miles ago. The CEL would still come on intermittently, but the dealer said they could not find a problem. The truck was running perfect up until the other day on a short trip the CEL came on and the truck started running rough. It now is showing the codes above. Someone asked me to smell dipstick for fuel smell and it does smell like fuel. Bad injector, another VGT problem? Bad fuel/filters? Thanks for your responses!

I wonder if this, or associated area, may be something to consider.

003 and 302 are related to the turbo or actuator. are you sure the dealer erased the codes since the repair as they could be historic and have nothing to do with rough running.?

as far as the other 302 code, which indicates a misfire on #2... which could definitely cause the engine to run rough... I think I would clear the codes and then see what comes back.. and probably focus on 302 if it continues.. also worth just making sure all the connections on the engine are secured.

They did clear the codes and checked for updates. I will double check connections too. thanks

Doing a search on the P0302 engine misfire cylinder #2 seems to be common?

@RDuncan, Don't put a lot of faith that they cleared the codes! I had a DEF pump replaced, when out of town. 2 weeks later, de-rate mode again! Code was stuck in memory and decided to reappear! The gremlins in our trucks do strange things, at strange times! I would have the codes purged through a dealer service dept. Mis-fire could be as simple as loose connection on the wiring for injectors.

basically the only thing a engine ECM knows regarding an engine misfire is the idea the PW on a certain injector is out of range, and it shows up as a misfire code. there is no other sensor in the engine that will show up as a misfire code on a specific cylinder.. it could drop a valve, have a missing cam lobe or have no rings in the piston and it wont code for a misfire... so that P302 deal has to have something to do with the electric side of the injector, which means it is either the ECM, the harness or the injector itself.. the injector or wiring at the injector being the most likely of the 3 things that would cause it to code. I wouldn't worry about the actuator stuff until I figured out the misfire..
