Good-bye EcoDiesel, Hello Cummins

I don’t know about the Ram ones being confusing, they are laid out pretty simply and easy to read. Very similar to Ford, with only minor formatting differences.

The Ram sticker does exactly what you say they used to… so what exactly are you having difficulty with?

Seems like you’re making a mountain out of a mole hill on this.

I agree. This is how all of the manufacturers are doing it.

The only thing I care about regarding price are the final numbers I'm going to pay (includes taxes, title, registration), not even the window sticker numbers.

A friend who recently bought a half ton truck, got so many discounts, that it wasn't even close to the window sticker.

Like with any product, it is what is called the "Suggested Retail Price" (SRP). No different than walking into your favorite sporting good store and buying a Nike t-shirt and it says $45.00. But when you go to the register, they ring you out, it's now $24.00. Not anywhere close to the SRP.

If I was in the market for any vehicle, I'd do a "price check please!"...

However, to play mind chess on this, I could see a "conditioning" effect to seeing higher prices before pulling the plug on discounts.

We bought our 2014 truck at Dave Smith, 100% by email. Of course they won't do that anymore, but at the time I just told the sales rep to give me the price with the exact options and color we wanted and I was going to be comparing it with 2 other dealers. Not pitting one against the other, just give me the damn best price you can. She did and it was a great transaction start to finish. My friend had already bought there before and their customer service was also excellent. Couple years ago I wanted to price a new truck and the D.Smith guy wouldnt give me a price by email-"I need your phone number so we can talk about it." Nah.

Exactly like @NIsaacs said, lots of fake AI generated videos and pictures out there.

The funniest thing I saw a few months ago was a CAT pickup truck. Got a chuckle out of that.

Yea 9/2011 great dealing with DS. 2022 tried negotiating a deal for my dad in 2022. It was a cluster!!!

I bought used from them in 2007 and it was a breeze. I looked at working with them in 2019 and 2022 and it was a cluster, and going to be far more expensive than my local dealer. They are t the company they used to be.

That is one of the many fake AI generated videos. If it don't come from Ram, a knowledgeable u-tuber or forum poster, it is just fake news.

That's a pretty impressive AI then... wow. So anyone have any info on why they are shutting down 2025 orders soon and what the 2026 might have in a 5500 model?

Not that impressive at all. Mirrors that haven’t been used since 2022 (or a hybrid of the old/new based on front or rear view), 550 on the tailgate, 7.0 Hemi with 830 lb/ft, old HO power numbers, 1500 rear exhaust, and a 10 speed the year after the 8 speed was released, etc. It was pretty bad from the get go.

I believe it was @NIsaacs that mentioned it has something to do with the move from MX to US for production.

I bought my 22 from DS as they were priced 5K lower then local dealer juts on the truck an lower on running boards and fender flairs, so the 500 mile drive with the wife and return cost including hotel stay & food was about $400

They were lower than one local dealer, but not where I ended up ordering from. A couple grand more and I would have had to travel, which doesn’t bother me but not for two days and thousands out of pocket.

When I go truck shopping, I'm either going to go out of town to buy one that is already on the dealer lot, or just order one. However, I know if I truly shop around in another locale, I can get a steep discount like y'all are mentioning on here. I like my local dealer, but the sales department, well they aren't your friends most of the time.

anymore, you can just internet shop these things and buy one 1000 miles from home if its worthwhile to you.
pick exactly the truck you are looking for..

my current truck was purchased using Sams Clubs car buying process..
but I played a gamed their system by using Sams Clubs in different locations around my state as Sams Club confined you to dealers within 50 miles of the Sams Club.

Car salesmen are never your friend. I despise them. Only people worse are the finance managers in the stealerships.

yeah, last 4 vehicles I purchased were with no trade in and pre arranged financing from the credit union.. and ask em if they can beat that.. you literally are writing them a check for the full amount when you do it that way.. so they lose their ability to do the paper shuffling hide some upcharges in the fine print its literally sales price, tax tag title when you do it that way.

Yeah, me too. I usually pay cash, but only if it makes sense. In other words, I have used 0% before, but only after I have worked my best deal, and no trades.
