I just get a kick out of people talking about this. Do diesel owners of newer trucks not realize that torque ratings have almost doubled in the last 6-7 years? These newer trucks have around 900 ft/lbs of torque. It makes sense that tire wear is going to be accelerated.
Just turned 50. Dad's been dead for 17 years this month. Never took one dime from him over 18. The blown headgasket comment......that's actually why I upgraded the turbo, to lower the drive pressure to not do that. You guys that are running stock VGT's have more of a chance to do that now than I...
Screw there warranty. Pulled the plug at 7,000 miles. I wouldn't trust 'em to work on the truck one time anyways. Be interesting to see what you looked like inside after eating your own crap for 100,000 miles... By then it's way to late if you plan on keeping it.
My everyday driver is a 2012...
You guys and all your concerns and inputs kill me that use your trucks for hauling groceries. We have a couple trucks at the shop with the Aisin transmissions that work hard everyday and have over 300,000 on them and have never even had the fluid changed. I would LOVE to have all the money the...
To answer your question JHawes, no........... you will have no issues with tuning if you use common sense not giving it hell all the time and run unsafe levels towing. It's not the tunes, it's the d*mba**es behind the tunes that screw there trucks up. IMO it is the only way to give your diesel...
Never said it was Bob. Again, that is a ridiculous statement! You know as well as I do that the majority of issues come from the people that are running around on level 5 and not being responsible. Just like any FB group or forum, you usually only see the problems posted, not all the success...
People hear the word tuner and automatically assume hot rod and beat the crap out of your truck. So this stigma automatically diverts to the threads of torn up transmissions, bad headgaskets, bad mileage, etc. It's just not always the case. I'm a 50 year old man and have run tuners for years...
Have you tried the BD Throttle Sensitivity Box? Set on 100% it will totally move the truck out of the way and not void any warranty.
About 70% of what Bob said is just not true. Please don't listen to anyone from California on deleting your truck. It's just a bad idea. The head gasket life...
What most people don't think about stepping down to a gasser is resale value. The gassers drop drastically every year in value and the diesels don't. The money you saved on the gasser will be gone in a couple years in the blue book. Something big to consider.....
