How old is your belt? My friend had this problem too. He never changed it since new, it had 220k on it. All that was needed was a new belt. The old belt looked ok just made the squeaking sound all the time.

My '00 would chirp. I put on a gaterback and no change. Replaced the belt tensioner and it hasn't done it since(3+ yrs).

I can't look up first gen stuff with what I have. But for a 2nd gen 12 valve it says: Camshaft thrust plate bolts 18 ft-lbs. Crank damper bolts 135 ft-lbs. That seems high so out of curiosity I looked up a 24 valve and it says 92 ft-lbs and the thrust plate is the same at 18 ft-lbs. Hopefully...

With the compressor setup can you isolate the left and right airbags so the pressure doesn't transfer over to the other side when turning and such. Or is this not a big deal. My father has some firestones and is thinking of a onboard compressor. He has no regrets about installing them, work great.

Hate them things, in the winter they like to find their way in the barn and crap on hay bales upstairs. Also in the morning they sit on a long conveyor from the silo's to the feed bunk. You fire everything up and go out to check it and once in a while get startled by one falling out. I swear...
