When I replaced aftermarket wheels with stock ones, I got nuts at Napa.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Air Filter: one dirt road and the minder says Now!

Is your filter actually filthy dirty? If not, take out the rubber boot between the airbox and fender. See if that makes a difference. It caused enough restriction on my truck that the filter minder only gave me a couple of days life. Without the boot, I got normal filter minder behavior....

Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Larry B starter rebuild kit done, hard starting a month later

But if the cables were bad, changing from my original starter with new brushes, etc, to a new AutoZone starter wouldn't have made any difference, right? The truck started fine for a month after I redid the starter.

Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Larry B starter rebuild kit done, hard starting a month later

Cables all looked good. It really bugs me that I fixed the problem a month ago, and now it's back.

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Battery Temperature Sensor part number for 96?

Thanks GAmes! I recently replaced the sensor with the one listed for 97+ and it seemed to work fine. I didn't actually check the resistance... :o

Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Larry B starter rebuild kit done, hard starting a month later

Hey y'all-- Just before I sold my truck to my stepson, my marine diesel mechanic friend installed Larry's Easy Starter Rebuild kit. He did that because my truck cranked very slowly. I'm going to assume he did the job correctly - he knows what he's doing, and I've never been inside a starter...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Brake Pedal Sinks to floor- engine on 96

Where are you bleeding from? Just the bleed screws on the caliper? The biggest inprovement I got in my pedal came from pressure bleeding and opening the outlet fittings on the MC, then the inlet fittings on the prop valve, then the outlet fittings on the prop valve, then the inlet fittings on...

Is anyone interested in a heavy duty sport headlight conversion harness?

I finally fixed my goofy headlights! When I built the harness, I installed both 9004 sockets on one side of the truck, and both 9007 sockets on the other. I'm very happy it was easy to fix - I just disengaged two terminals from the plug housings on two plugs and reinserted them into the...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Brake Pedal Sinks to floor- engine on 96

I'm sure my recent posts were included in the search results you read, and I still don't have an answer either. Thoughts: Always bench bleed a MC. I don't know if it always matters, but if you don't do it, you won't know if that's your problem. I used a big syringe from NAPA to bench bleed...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Aluminum radiator problem!?

I've heard horror stories about several of the high-end aluminum radiator brands. Some are welded, some are epoxied, and people say the epoxy construction is inferior. But IIRC I've seen problems with the welded too. Here's my thought: Your sig doesn't sound like you have some sort of wild...

    Archived Lost the cylinder

Any noises? Mine lost a piston oil squirter at 125K, scuffed up the cylinder wall pretty bad, had to go .040 over. Sounded like piston slap.

    2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Dana 80 dually help

Assuming the rear wasn't converted to duals later, it should be an 80. So if it has an ABS sensor, you're off to a good start. Then I guess you need the tooth count for the ABS. A pre-'01.5 rear will have drums, so you'll need to swap brakes. The prices you're finding seem crazy, but since it's...
