Thanks B. G. sometimes when you are hot, frustrated, and in a big hurry the simplest things can't come to mind. I will cool down and take another look at it this evening.

I noticed a squeal from the belt on my 93 today. Upon inspection it is leaking coolant where the water pump mates to the block. I thought this job wouldn't be that bad, but when I try to put a wrench on the tensioner it only loosens the bolt instead of moving the tensioner. Any ideas or thoughts...

I looked around any and all fuel supply lines and the pumps and see not one drop of leaking fuel. To make even a bigger mystery it fired up and ran fine yesterday and today. I think i will replace the lift pump for good measure and see what happens. Thanks to all of you for answering my thread...

Last night i got in my 93. It cranked 15 to 20 times before it started. I'm thinking air is in fuel system. Anyone that could give me a starting place to look would be VERY helpful. Thanks in advance for any replies.

DPyles, I am currently looking into the ''allison thing'', myself. I know for a fact that Bluebird buses used a 5. 9 cummins and an allison trans. since the late 80's-early90's. We have a school bus salvage yard close to where I live and I plan to do some investigation.

I would agree with "bullettproof"- I had a 95 ctd for over 200k and not one single major problem.

I saw a 92 club cab sell, here in Tennessee for 14k, so I guess it is all in the old saying-"when two fools meet".

I have a 93 cummins with 260k on the clock that i am thinking about changing over to Amsoil. Does anyone think that with this many miles on petroleum oil, that there might be some adverse effects?

I agree i buy the best truck out of the three every time, and it always seems to be a cummins powered ram every time. Theres something about having a 6 clyinder under the hood, and still pass v8's that really gets your blood flowing.
