It took 4 hours. Yank radiator and fan = 30 minutes. Yank crank damper and front cover, another 30 minutes. Then the rest is up to you and how much you want to clean and prep. I loctited all the case bolts and tabbed it.
There is nothing you can do exept dig in. I put it off and put it off...
Well, looks like I found what might have cause the cold start stumble. The #1delivery valve spring is in 3 pieces. I cannot find one local and I cannot put it back together this way. Does anyone have one they will sell me?
PM me if you do or know of a place that for sure would have one.
DO NOT RUN A BRAND CALLED "FLEET CHARGE"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is a pinkish purple color and it is not to be confused with DEXCOOL that GM uses. However it may as well be. It ate over 7 heater cores out of my ford. Ford used the brass cores, and I beleive Dodge did back in the early 90;s before...
I researched this topic to death when I used to own an old 1983 Volvo 240 turbo. It came factory oil cooled only, no antifreeze. The common modd was to change the center cartridge to one with a coolant hookup. The reason behind this was because unlike a diesel, gassers have throttle plates. When...
What side effects would there be? The 215's and 181's brought it to life literally. I could not imagine selling it to anyone with the stock injectors (160HP). I don't even know why they even made them.
I would like to sell my truck but plan to stick with the 95 model year due to the price. Problem is NO 95 ever had 181's I want to take the 181's out so I can hang onto them for my next truck. What side effects will I get using 167's?
Bigger housing = less overall pressure to spin the turbine wheel, thus less rpm from the compressor wheel. Change out the housing back to a 12CM and be done with it. Unless of course you want serious HP, then go to a whole new turbo that will suite your plans.
ATF+3 is what it is designed for, even with aftermarket clutch materials. ATF+4 is what replaced the older +3 version and I bet you cannot even find the +3 anymore.
ATF+4 is what you need to use. No real need to use a special synthetic as the base stock of +4 is full synthetic already. I...
Casey,
Can you change your radiator yourself? If so, you can do this job with ease all by yourself. The hardest part of the job was getting the fan clutch off. You tighten it to loosen it.
The front cover is a breeze to get off and the front seal kit has a special depth washer that...
Mine burns / leaks 1qt every 3k miles and it has 254k on it. Blowby is seen at the breather tube but it does not look excessive.
I would say go for your upgrades, whats the worst that could happen? Just get the KDP fixed.
I don;t like the forgivness of acrylic for vehicles I want to keep. You cannot wetsand and buff nearly as effectivly. I wish to use base/clear as I can cover up any mistakes by westsanding.
I am looking to do a quality paint job on my truck and I only know how to spray acrylic enamel in a NON hvlp gun. I can settle with a marginal texture quality and simply wet sand and buff it out. It does not have to be show car quality, but it can;t look like a $300 dollar macco special either...
If the tires screached, you may want to pull the differential cover and pull the center pin out and inspect the pin and spiders. My buddy did this to his mustang and just a few days later the spiders shot out the cover. Center pin was scored bad. I know a mustang axle (7. 5") is nowhere near the...
