Hey guys, I'm preparing to do a head gasket on my truck and want to get o-ring grooves cut and do it right once. Anyone know a reputable machine shop that will do this? I'm in Fairbanks but willing to drive to anchorage.

It is a somewhat involved job and price adds up quickly. If you do it "right" the first time with a P7100 swap, you could have bought 3 VP's. So you have to weigh how much you really want the mechanical reliability.

I remember hearing there was a way to tell if a '98 is a 12 or 24 valve by looking at the VIN. Who knows?

Hey All, My NV5600 is slowly but surely on its way out in more ways then one:{ Which bring me to the thought of swapping in a NV4500 from a '98+ truck. I'm sure its been done before but didn't see anything when searching on here. So I have a few questions for everyone with some experience...

Thats easy. I realize they make them for two different applications, I'm concerned about fitment with a 5" exhaust and a NV5600.

I was thinking if I buy the Fast Coolers and they're too tall, I could always mill one down a bit shorter for the exhaust side.

Hey guys, I'm looking at possibly getting some of those trick aluminum finned trans coolers that go on either side of the transmission. My question is if either of them fit with a 5" exhaust?
