    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Need repair facility for NV-4500 in Ocala/Orlando

Williams Diesel Service in Ocala recommended Tek Transmission in Ocala. Having experience with Williams, took their advice. Tek said they would do the work as per my request, but would not warranty the repair. They charged two hours labor ($128), nut modification kit ($53), plus the cost of...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Need repair facility for NV-4500 in Ocala/Orlando

Well it finally happened. Lost 5th gear about 100 miles from my destination in Leesburg, Florida. Need to find good repair facility to pull tail shaft and inspect gear, splines and install modified retainer nut kit, if feasible. Has this approach to repair been satisfactory? If splines or...

    Help regarding vintage Dodge pickup!

Thanks to all for the feedback. Will post a picture when I can. The truck is currently in another state. May be able to get someone to take a picture and send by e-mail. So much for determining the year. At least I now know the time frame. Thanks Jared for the link. Will check it out. Hugh

    Help regarding vintage Dodge pickup!

Thanks XJSuperman: It is possible in those years that the first two numbers in ther serial were the year, in which case this would be a 49. Looks like a good candidate for restoration, no dents and only minor rust.

Need some help identifying a vintage Dodge pickup acquired at an abandoned property sale. It has a six cylinder gas engine and was obviously targeted as a restoration project by the previous owner. Serial # is 4912-30181. The rear cab window is in three sections, with the outer sections curved...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Over heating of headlight switch on 2001

My 97 had a recall for an overheating headlamp switch assembly, which could start a fire. The recall procedure cured the problem. My neighbor has a 2001 and is experiencing the same problem, over heating of the switch and area around it. It actually gets so warm that it is uncomfortable to...

    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Rattle in Gear Shift Lever

Sometime back I lost 3/4 of my trans (manual) fluid on a trip. Replaced the leaking seal, refilled and all seemed ok, however, now have a new development for which some input would be appreciated. When starting out with a cold truck, get a strong rattle in 4th gear for about 4 to 5 miles...

Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Trans Fluid, How much is enough

Just returned from a run to the East Coast and opted to have the oil changed before heading west to Memphis. Mechanic at my favorite Dodge dealer calls me out to look at transmission fluid leaking heavily from tailshaft of my 5 speed. A good 2/3 to 3/4 of the fluid gone. Must have started...

Followed up on Deezul 1's suggestion. Visited Wal Mart and finally found Prym Twist Pins in the fabric and sewing section. They took care of the problem in fine fashing and are barely noticeable. For you non domestic types (me included) they are used for fastening doilies and other...

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Headliner fabric falling

Scott: Thanks. The headliner material itself is not crumbling. Will check with some auto upholstery shops. It sounds like it is a spray glue similar to what can be used to mount photos to bristol board. Will post, if successful. Hugh
