    Competition 990 hp on a VP44!

Here's a post he made on another forum regarding the head, hope this helps "The CR head really wasnt that bad to install, The connector tubes have to be from a CR motor, but they are larger and have the screen in them still. This is nice because they flow more and still retain the...

    Jet Fuel?

By JET FUEL, are you taking about aviation diesel fuel (blue diesel)? If so, I've heard that aviation diesel has less lubricants than regular low sulfer diesel... . ? Might be a bad idea.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) ECM Compatibility

Have a 02 (3500 auto 2wd), that might have a ECM problem. My buddy has a 99 that is willing to lend me his ECM, to see if it solve's the problem. Will a ECM off of a 99 (2500 auto 4x4) work? I know the output on these engines are different (99=215hp,02=235hp) Thanks in advance for any...

Archived erratic miss and shut off

Well, I finally started the truck again just to move it. It started right up with an occasional miss but nothing as bad as before with the dirty fuel. Drove off the driveway and once I hit the street, the truck wouldn't miss and drove just like new. I must have gone out for about 4-5 miles...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) anybody have a spare ecm?

Air box..... Do you mean the air filter..... ? If it's the one behind the air filter, then it should be the PCM. It's bolted onto the firewall (passenger side) and not on the motor. If it is mounted on the motor, then it's the ECM. On the driver's side under the fuel filter canister...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) swap

I've never heard of anyone interested in doing that swap. It would be like swapping out a 12v for a 24v (vp44). I've just heard of more than a couple blown motors (6. 7L) at my local dealer. Your best bet would be a 24v common rail (5. 9L, 03-07), if you like the electronics and would like a...

Archived erratic miss and shut off

I'm not 100% on this but I think the 01-02 trucks only have a camshaft position sensor... ... . ? It might be the 98. 5-99 or 00 that have both a cam and crankshaft position sensor. If not, someone please correct me.

    To TRade or Not

Honestly, I would look into a 5. 9 CR instead. I have a buddy that works at the local dodge dealer and he told me that since the common rail first came out in 03, he replaced 8 engine's. In the first four month's of the 6. 7, he had replaced 5 engine's. Basically if you plan on keeping it for...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) airdog vs fass

I recently bought a fass 150 system and like the whole package. Some might tell you that there loud, that may be the case with the older models but mine makes hardly any noise. Now if I had to do it again, I would buy an Airdog instead. I've heard that fass has horrible customer service and...
