I know it doesn't have a Cummins init but this thing is Bad looking

Throttle cable

I just done a swap from a 24 valve to a 12 valve motor and I would have to say it's essayer than a p-pump mod on a 24 valve. The only things I had to buy was a 98 PCM and a 98 Wiring harness, 98 Throttle cable and a oil pressure sending unit. The truck started off being a 1999 1 ton Dually 4x4 auto 24 valve. I started by buying a harness for 150. 00 and then the pcm for 160. 00 they came from a auto 98 4x4 12 valve truck. Everything bolted right up plugged right in and it's now a 1999 1 ton 4x4 12 valve manual truck ( 12 valve, NV5600 6 speed, 271 T-Case ) It was easy wiring up the fuel shut off solenoid too and was all done inside of the PDC. I have to say if you thinking about it just do it, it easy! It looks stock all wiring, hoses, exhaust, and yes all my gauges work with no splicing!! Money into doing this - motor is around 480 to 500 ;)

SWEET. I've got a 99 53 block and have been wondering about the possibility of this in the case I get a crack.

Thanks for trying this. Congratulations on the success!

I did a similar swap on my 01. The tv cable for the trans on the 01 was 1 inch to long, and it didnt make pressure in the trans and I smoked od. I also changed the instrument cluster.

kinda an old thread, found this while doing a search.

You mention using the 98 wiring harness. I assume its a 98 12 valve harness? Is that harness different from the 94-97? also was curious if you couldnt get the 99 24 valve PCM/wiring harness to jive with the 12 valve engine, thats why you opted for a older style PCM. I will be in the process of a 95 12V into an 01 24V shortly.

Thanks, Jim

I'm thinking about doing this swap. My question is how much can my original motor go for?

02 standard output 110k miles, stock

(no rust, South Florida motor)

It works fine, just want something different... ... and higher hp:-laf

i got a 12 valve motor im swapping in my 24valve dodge 2002 truck and im wondering. everything will hook up to the harness on the twentyfour valve cause i got the harness and the pcm for the twelve valve. just need some info on the wiring so i can hook everything up. email me or send me a message. thanks
