    Sometimes a transmission temp. sensor going bad can cause odd shifting problems, as well. The transmission is not supposed to shift into overdrive, nor lock up the torque converter until a certain operating temperature is reached. JB

    Jack up the whole front end, and put a mark on both front tires. Measure the distance between the marks when they are both forward, and again when they are both back. When you put in the new tie-rod ends, adjust to get the same measurements. JB

    The 3500s are available in a single-rear wheel unit by special order. The easiest way to find out the axle ratio is the underhood sticker. If you can't find it there, there should be a tag right on the axle. It will be a thin metal tag that is held on by one of the differential cover bolts. JB

    disconnect They went away with the disconnect, while at the same time went with another axle maker. Now all you control is the transfer case. In my opinion, if they were smart, they would put good old, reliable locking hubs in front, or at least make them optional. Jerry
