After the above, check for continuity between the 12v pin and the running lights, same between 12v and ground. Do this without it plugged into your truck. Then check the same on the truck side. Chance are something is shorting out between those wires and it is feeding 12v in all the time.

I believe the part for your butt and back are leather (cheap though) and the sides are vinyl. Don't worry, it will start cracking soon!
