Too Bad DODGE didnt think of that! a $40k+ truck and the steering wheel has to be covered by a wal-mart $10 cover. Thats quality!

help! water leak from driver rear door

Well I have tried a couple of things, and will report back later I noticed my passenger rear door seemed tighter. if i push on it when closed it doesn't give much maybe a mm or two. If I push on the driver side it gives 3 or 4 mm. So I moved the latch in a little to make it fit tighter...

help! water leak from driver rear door

noticed a puddle of water yesterday under the drivers floor mat yesterday. I figured it was from the rear brake light, so did some investigating and found it is definetly not from the brake light. i removed my rear seat, and pulled back the carpet from the driver side front and back so I could...

Is the overhead mpg reading really less accurate than a hand calc??

I am tired, but doesnt that remove the potential error with the overhead knowing volume not mass?? the pressure of the fuel is fixed (common rail) and we can measure the volume. so we acually know the mass of the fuel thanks to Mr Boyle ( probably should be Dr). Why did I start this topic?

Is the overhead mpg reading really less accurate than a hand calc??

isnt there law of thermodynamics which is way outa my league, but isnt there a relationship between pressure, temp, mass and volume, that says if you know two (pressure and volume) you know the other two (mass and temp) I may have butchered this, but chem. is not my thing

Is the overhead mpg reading really less accurate than a hand calc??

what impact would the high pressure common rail have on the whole equation.

Is the overhead mpg reading really less accurate than a hand calc??

MacHaggis, good post. I had to read it twice to make sure I understood everything, I think I have it . first assumption is that fuel comes into our trucks at the same temp 60. If that is so I would be ok with the fact that you can refill your the tank within a half gallon or so pretty...

Is the overhead mpg reading really less accurate than a hand calc??

not sure on the odometer portion, but the fuel level readings I think are different. I believe the computer uses some type of measurement taken at the actual injection events.

Is the overhead mpg reading really less accurate than a hand calc??

tycreek don't forget you also need to measure your tires, and compensate for the error in your odometer :-laf :-laf

Is the overhead mpg reading really less accurate than a hand calc??

filling to the rim does not mean you have the same amount of fuel each time. Here is an slight exageration to show my point If I fill my tank to the rim, and the fuel is cold. Say the fuel 35 degrees because it was in a tanker truck and its 15 degrees outside and the tanker filled the...

Is the overhead mpg reading really less accurate than a hand calc??

jvlope what are all those things in your signature? like TST PMCR R49, EZ Stacked, BDDL CL sometimes?? Are those fueling boxes?? If so wouldnt that would make your puters mpg null and void?

Is the overhead mpg reading really less accurate than a hand calc??

right. weight is constant volume changes. as temp of fuel goes up it occupies more space ( and you pay for it, even though you dont get it)\\ what I mean is if it is above 60 degrees you are not getting a true gallon of fuel when you pump. conversely if you pump and the fuel temp is under 60...
