well, the oil has been changed often, never dry or low. no plowing, in fact no abuse whatsoever. kind of weird it just dies at 66k. your description sounds pretty accurate though. it does sound like something inside is slipping then banging. thanks.

even my DMax 2500 HD had a drain plug in the diff--or in hindsite, that could have been one of the 24 injectors i had replaced!!!! :rolleyes: :rolleyes:
i just finished searching this issue in quest of the same info---my understanding is Zerex go-5 (available at walmart) is the oem replacement coolant. if i'm, wrong---please correct me.

ok- just called local dealer to price one out and he says he has no idea what i'm talking about---he can't find a listing for anything resembling my description.
is this something that will bolt into my truck or does the truck have to come from the factory with the appropriate mounting...
well i'm glad it wasn't you--i don't wish it on anyone. was pretty weird how my lever wasn't even close to hitting either the stock plate nor the #8. both wire lock ties were on the cover screws so i don't think it has been messed with and it was a stock plate in there.
