    FASS system installation

I contacted DPP back in mid January and was basically told that mounting in the bed wouldnt be a problem. However in the interest of saving time and some money I mounted it in the recommended location. Its been working great ever since. Only problem now that its getting warmer as suggested in...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck running bad

Well the dealer wanted 300. 00 for a new sending module ( the only way to get the part that the suction/return lines utilize ), so I searched and wound up doing the CStewart mod. Everythings back together FASS installed and so far so good.

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Fuel Gauge sending units poor quality!

The part of my fuel sending module which contains the ports for suction and return lines is rotted. The dealer only sells the whole thing for 300. 00 bucks. I'm trying to find the described thread, but no luck. Does it describe replacing this part as well?

2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Front wheel bearing removal?

Well I figured the whole thing out. I undid the ball joints and tie rod, dropped the whole thing down as far as I could, and put a torch to the upper ball joint. Once the ball joint shaft was cut the whole carrier/rotor assembly came out pretty easy. Then I used a block of wood to support one of...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck running bad

Well I got the FASS system and started the install, it seems that a previous owner chopped the factory nipples off the sending unit and left little stubs with regular rubber lines and hose clamps. It also appears that there has been some leakage there. Possibly air was getting sucked into the...

    FASS system installation

Does anyone see a problem with mounting the FASS unit in the bed? I checked it out and it will fit nicely in the front driver side corner. I thought of making a case for i out of diamond plate aluminum. The only potential problem I see is shortened pump life from having to lift the fuel higher...

    FASS system installation

I bought the 95 gph. I've been reading some old threads and I think I've found the answers. Sounds like I can just toss the old filter housing and not worry about the heater, but what about the water in fuel sensor? I suppose as long as I keep up with filter changes I shouldnt have to worry...

    FASS system installation

I just purchased the FASS fuel setup for my truck, and I've gone to the DPP website and read through the installation manual. What parts to remove and discard. I'm assuming that the stock LP can go, but I'm unsure about the stock fuel filter housing, I know that the water in fuel sensor and fuel...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck running bad

Thanks, I had read something about that. Wasnt the price almost as much as the whole FASS system like almost 460. 00 or was that the installed price? I just ordered the FASS system for 579. 00+S&H with the 95 GPH pump.

How come sometimes my posts come up with my sig and truck specs and other times it doesnt?

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck running bad

Today I pulled the plug on the lift pump and checked for power and ground. During the on cycle after bumping the key I had both. Then I plugged it back in and bumped the key for the heck of it. The pump was now making a buzzing noise but not creating any pressure on FP tester. When it stopped I...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck running bad

 Unfreakin believable I just checked my fuel pressure. NONE. The pump isnt even running or making any noise. I dont think its even been 5000 miles since I replaced it. Does Cummins offer any sort of warranty on these? Probably not I suppose.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck running bad

I drove the truck while the scan tool was hooked up so I could watch sensor values. The APPS appeared to be giveing correct values, the MAP sensor I assume was shown as boost on the list that to was working it went from 0/1psi at idle up to 11psi at 2000 rpm. I have a feeling the problem is...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck running bad

A month ago shortly after a fill up my truck started acting up. Cant go over 2000 RPM, if I try I get clouds of blue smoke. I have recently replaced the lift pump and fuel filter(proir to problem). Havent checked FP yet. At first I thought possibly turbo after inspection I found that the...
