    Bosch injector pump endplay question

I guess I'll just have to run her. The shops around here seem to think its ok. Seems like alot of play to me though. But this is the only bosh pump I've had anything to do with. Thanks for the info.

    Bosch injector pump endplay question

Aw crap. I just talked to two pump shops and they both said my end play is normal. I already installed it too. This darn engine has been a real hemeroid it seems, eveything about it. Now I just don't no what to do. The local shops must not know what they are doing. Thanks for the info. It just...

    Bosch injector pump endplay question

The shop I had the pump rebuilt at said this is normal. Just wanted another opinion. The engine is pretty much stock, couldn't aford to do any tweaking. I have 2 hopped up cars,if I spent money hopping up my truck, my wife would probably divorce me. But I did think about the idea. It would be...

    Bosch injector pump endplay question

Just had the pump on my 93 dodge cummins rebuilt and on installaton was doing some checking. The pump has . 015 inch endplay not turning, and when rolling the engine over, the shaft and pump gear move in and out about . 025 inch at around each cylinder pulse. Is this normal ? Some of you may...

    Thrust bearing terror

The trans. shop that rebuilt the transmission said the converter was rebuilt, but I really wonder if they didn't just clean it up and call it good. Anyway I'm not taking a chance on that trans. or converter . I'm just puting in a complete new assembly. That will take the trans. out of the...

    Thrust bearing terror

Helical cut on the timing gears. Hm. The angle is about 15 degrees, and normal engine rotation would cause a slight forword pull on the crank. If the cam gear runout was excessive it could aggrevate this, but the runout in my motor is well within specs. All B series cummins motors, to my...

    Thrust bearing terror

Flexplate runout is terrible on every 5 9 Dodge I've worked on, this one being no exception. Bell housing alignment hasn't bein checked yet,as the trans. front pump will have to be removed and the crank center line indicated to the pump bore in the trans. case, but this should be done. Last of...

    Thrust bearing terror

Sorry I have not been able to log on for a while. Password missunderstanding. Yes the rods and bearings have abnormal wear on them, both indicating something pushing forward. The block is being rechecked for cracks right now, especially in the main webbing. And Iguess I Don't see how a cam could...

    Thrust bearing terror

end play was . 007 on assembly. the block is at the machine shop right now for another round. I stressed to check for cracks in the main webbing was very important.

    Thrust bearing terror

the engine runs great even with a bad thrust, no vibration evedent. the damper runs straight, no wobble and looks good.

    Thrust bearing terror

crank end play was . 007 inch on assembly. block was magged. bearing fit seemed normal.

    Thrust bearing terror

line bore is straight within . 0015 inch. it is round within . 001 inch and to size.

    Thrust bearing terror

the belt is running straight and has a new tentioner. the timing gears are helicl cut.

    Thrust bearing terror

My 93 cummins went 200,000 miles and shelled a thrust bearing. Since this it has done in two more in short order. The trans. has been rebuilt, cooler flow checked, converter replaced, and many other things checked. Two machine shops missed a crack in the crank, but the third thrust bearing was...

    engine problem

better do some checking. I have a 1993 5. 9 thats taken out three thrust bearings and I cant find the cause. Thrust bearing failures can be caused by balooned converters, restricted trans. coolers, cracked crankshafts, bent connecting rods, and some types of misalignment, among other things...
