Call Hitch Crafters in Costa Mesa near the Orange County Fairgrounds, 949-548-3000. They have done hitches in my last three trucks and do very good work. They were able to get me whatever hitch I chose in one day. My last two have been bolted on, but they will weld if you desire. Most of the...
Have heard nothing but good things about your trailer. You might want to check out the toy hauler section at rv.net in the open roads forums if you already have not. Good luck and have fun!
Well I went and picked up my truck. The vibration is still there, no change at all which is no surprise because they didn't do anything to it. The service writer did not write anything on my receipt ticket about not being able to go any farther on a test drive to find a non expansion joint...
Thanks for the info sag2. You are right it si my fault to begin with, but I thought I did the right thing by driving it as the right speeds. Unfortunately I did not know what it felt like and all I felt was the bumps of the expansion joint freeway. It won't happem again I'll tell you that right...
Sag2,
Thanks for the info. It appears as though you may work for DC, or at least another dealer and are familiar with DC's system. I don't have a problem doing this, but why is it up to the customer to point this out to the dealer? I mean I don't work there and if I didn't learn this from you...
Mhorne,
If you don't have it then don't worry about it. Seems as though the trucks either have it or they don't. Mine had it right from the start. I knew this when I looked for a truck too, in fact I read it right here. It just so happens the location I test drove the truck was a section of...
I am not even going to ask for this or any other favors, as far as putting in on a rack. The lawyer also told me not to pursue a DC rep for any reason at all. I do not even have to contact DC's arbitration hotline or whatever it is when you are not satisfied.
The lawyer said these are just...
DPK,
Thanks for the info. After I read your last post about taking him for a ride, I called him to suggest that. He said he is not authorized to do that and wouldn't do it. He then suggested I go to a different dealership to get the truck looked at because they can't help me. I asked him to...
Well here we go..... Just got a call from the dealer. He said your truck is ready for pickup. We replaced your door seals and we could not duplicate the vibration problem.
I explained to him to look in the mirrors when driving at that speed if nothing else. He said DC gives them about 5...
DPK,
Very interesting info that is for sure. The dealer I bought it from and where I took it in is a very large dealer, that mostly sells trucks. I am not sure what ratio 1500 to 2500/3500, but they claim to be the county's largest truck dealer.
As the service writer was typing up my work...
DPK,
I wonder at what point does the "drone" become a vibration. I have a 67 chevelle that had a drone from an exhaust I put on it. The drone hurt my ears before it ever became an actual vibration, and I changed the exhaust.
The rear view mirrors in my truck shake and vibrate at these...
I too have a 40K $ vibrator. Mine vibrates enough that I can't see anything out of my rear view mirrors and it also puts my hands asleep if I drive for any distance. It also does it when I tow my trailer, which is a major annoyance on any trip we have taken with the family.
I took it in...
2005 in my sig. Bought 11-04, so far 5400 miles most of it towing my TT. Problems so far.....
1. 65-70 mph vibe (very annoying, I will not let this one go)
2. door seals
3. Buzz in speaker
4. brake pedal does not fully return, I have to pull up on pedal or brakes lights stay on
I...
Well I haul an 11,000 lb trailer and I still have the vibes. After this weeks camping trip it is going in for its first service and first complaints about the vibe issue. I will also be getting the door seals replaced as they are so tore up that they are now making more wind noise.
