    Transmission Linkage Bracket

Thanks all! Found one. The builder had a spare (or mine in their pile).

    Transmission Linkage Bracket

That's interesting. According to Dodge, they were calling a specific part number for 88-93 diesels. They guy at the dealer thought that it was due to the Cummins specific TV (kick down) cable. The TV cable sheath has square ends... That'll be a bear to get right if I need to modify one. I'm...

    Transmission Linkage Bracket

Either I, or my builder misplaced this bracket: BRACKET, Torque Shaft Mtg., Trans. End, I had the transmission rebuilt last thanksgiving and am just now getting around to the install. Anyhow... either myself or my builder misplaced the bracket. Anyone have a spare, or know where I might find...

    Minimize haze at idle.

So with respect to all the folks who are going to respond with "it depends", I'll try to take care of some of the preliminaries. Assuming stock timing, pump is working correctly, engine is working correctly, fuel pin depth is correct (happy path baseline). And given that I have the pump turned...

    Fluid dampr or harmonic balancer

Me too. All I can think of is the fan has more airflow across the top since the dampr takes up a good deal of real estate behind the lower part of the fan. Maybe the fan is able to bite more air at the top causing it to lean forward under rpm. Who knows...

    Fluid dampr or harmonic balancer

Fluid dampr installed, and here is what I found. I did have to shim the fan. On the first install the fan barely cleared the damper, so I added a 1/8 washer under the hub nut. Under high rpm the fan would graze the damper, so I installed a second washer. All seems to be good now. -The fan...

    Fluid dampr or harmonic balancer

So, it is time to replace my old balancer. I've heard that there are fan clearance problems with the fluid damprs. I've also heard that there's a spacer ring for fan nut. Opinions?

    Second Overdrive Switch?

A lot of my driving is "in town" 25 to 45mph, with short freeway runs. I have been training myself to kick out the overdrive to help keep it alive. What'd be handy though, is if I could add an additional switch at my console (seems like that od switch is a long way away sometimes... ). Any...

Max speed adjustment screw, umm where’d it go??

Hah! Let's put it this way. If I removed it in my quest for power, I don't remember doing it... From Bob's post, I'm good if the rpms don't go above 3500. This engine needs to last me a couple more years.

    Phoenix Pump Builder?

Anyone know a reputable pump builder in southern AZ? Or, who would be the best bet for me to ship mine to?

Max speed adjustment screw, umm where’d it go??

Max speed (High idle) adjustment screw, umm where’d it go?? Well, I'm not sure why, when, or how, but it is gone... I bought a "replacement" threaded rod, but can't find any info on how to properly adjust it. Can anyone give me a hand?

    Ve injection pump

I have an "old" 1/2 inch distributor bolt wrench. It's handle is shaped in an ark and worked well. You may be able to find one a bit cheaper than the "name brand" stuff.

    Suddenly no power steering

And the answer is: Pulled vacuum pump and power steering pump off as a unit. btw, this was much easier that just removing the ps pump. I found the check valve stuck, so I did not look any farther. Pump was returned, new pump installed and all is well. I did add an external filter to the return...

    Suddenly no power steering

I replaced my power steering pump a week ago. Drove for 100 miles or so over the past week, and on the way home the power steering went away. No noise, plenty of fluid, no foam. It steering acts just like steering under no engine power. I'll check out the check valve in the pump. Any other ideas?

Torque Converter, anybody got free adivice?

??? Sorry that my spelling is offensive to you… But, I must point out the spelling/syntax errors in my post did get past my spell checker. Thanks for the advice everyone. It looks like Goerend was recommended most frequently. One thing I did misspell was DTT (DDT in my post) No one...

New springs, not what I expected.

A torch and a hammer in my case, I just bent the material back instead of removing it. Shorter springs would have taken care of the clearance issue. I'll add that to my conversation when I give Alcan a call. Thanks, ENafziger for the link as well.

New springs, not what I expected.

Well, I fixed the rear spring hanger/clearance problem yesterday. The truck rides better, but the truck did not level out much. BSchwarzli, when you have a moment, can you provide me the measure between the front springs an the frame at the bump stop? It's time to call the vendor and see what...

Torque Converter, anybody got free adivice?

I recently upgraded my turbo (see sig) and exhaust manifold. It was supposed to be the final upgrade to make my truck, well, hall a**. It did not work out that a away. Long story short, I dropped by a local diesel shop and after a test drive, they felt it was an issues with the converter. I must...
