    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Low Pressure reading with FASS / Bleeding gauge

If memory serves me, I read that the FASS is factory set at 8 PSI. You can adjust it to higher pressures by doing something with the inlet or outlet line. Best to call the factory and find out the correct way to adjust it.

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Follow up to lift pump survey

'98. 5 24V 2500 auto 4x4 long bed. No symptoms of failure. Changed out at 78,000 miles due to concern over the possiblity of failure while in a remote area. I'm currently looking into installing a mechanical gauge to monitor the pressure at the fuel filter. I just have to find a mechanical...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Intermittent power loss problem

Last update: Dealer installed MAP sensor and so far this has corrected the power loss problem. The dealer did say that he needed the lift pump anyway as it was putting out low pressure. Less than 15 PSI

Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Mechanical Fuel Pressure Guage in Cab???

Mechanical Fuel Pressure Guage in the Cab??? Simple question. Is it OK to do this. Give me some plus/minus's. Thanks.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Ebrake and straight pipe

So how does the exhaust brake work? Do you get a reduction in performance because of the restriction in the exhaust? Can you use one with a automatic transmission?

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Intermittent power loss problem

The dealer has now stated that the MAP sensor is bad. I haven't heard if they replaced it yet. Could the MAP sensor cause lack of power?

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) More Lift Pump Questions

I think I ended up spending $173 for the pump, pigtail and 10 banjo washers w/sales tax in Houston from Cummins Southern Plains two weeks ago. The install took 1 hour from engine shut off to restart. I was taking my time. Looks to me like the easiest way to get to it is to remove the fuel...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Intermittent power loss problem

Update I spoke with my Uncle this morning and it is not just a "cold" only thing now. He said he barely made it over a bridge going to the dealer yesterday afternoon. APPS stands for what? I'm pretty sure TPS is throttle position sensor, but I can't figure out APPS. Thanks.

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Intermittent power loss problem

Thanks. I'll pass that on. To check for codes, you turn the ignition switch through the full cycle three times, leaving it in the "on" position the third time?

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Intermittent power loss problem

I'm writing this for my uncle who is in Northwestern Florida. He has a '99 3500 Ram with 24V CTD w/automatic transmission. He has been experiencing intermittent power loss lately. The truck will fade out and then come back in. He thought it was the fuel filter, changed that, same problem. He took...

    Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) How do you drain the coolant?? 180 thermostat?

3954194 is the Cummins part number for their 180° t-stat for my 98. 5 24 valve. Dodge told me the same thing that Cummins told you, then they handed me the above part number with 180° stamped on it in a Cummins box. The drain petcock is on the bottom of the radiator (d'oh) on the drivers...

    Kimber or Springfield

I would never buy either again. Both junk. I had a SA Champion about a year ago. Would not feed hardball. Sent it back and SA fix the feeding problem. Then the slide cracked at 1500 rounds. Sent it back, got a new gun... that wouldn't feed hardball. Bought a Kimber Ultra Ten compact in July...

He got ripped. I guess your dealership can start selling good filters now that you know the part number and where to get them, huh?

Anyone who paid $45,000 for a Dmax got screwed. And why don't you use AC-Delco filters?
