    Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Oil filter head replacement

I've had a leak between the oil filter and the mount (head) since my '98 was new. No one can seem to find the problem. After trying lots of advice I'm going to replace the oil filter head assuming there is a crack or pinhole in the casting. When I remove the unit are there any surprises behind...

    I have a '98 3500, 5spd, 3:54 gears in Dana 80, 19. 5 inch Alcoa wheels and at 70 mph I'm turning 1800 RPM.

    Auto Meter pyro

Sorry about the # of replys. I kept trying to reply and the @*#&$%@ local server kept dumping me. I didn't know they were going through!

    Auto Meter pyro

I guess I'm OK then. I bought the complete set from Geno's. By the way, I ran a lead to the Mag-Hitech then drove about 15 mi at 55 mph and was seeing about 140 degrees on the temp gauge. I have a 3500QC with a 5 spd, 3:54, 2X2. I was not towing. I wonder what "normal" temp range is? Boost...

    Auto Meter pyro

I guess I'm OK then. I bought the whole set from Geno's. By the way, I ran a temp probe back to the Mag-Hytech and drove about 15 miles at 55 mph (not towing) and was getting 135' to145' readings. I wonder what the normal ranges are? (5 spd--3:54--2X2--3500QC) Thanks

    Auto Meter pyro

I guess I should be OK then. The whole works came in one package from Geno's. Thanks. I only made one goof. I powered the gauge lights from an Ignition lead from the "Painless Wiring" board (installed yesterday) not even thinking the gauge lights would be on in the day! I'll have to go back and...

    Auto Meter pyro

I'm installing an Auto Meter Ultralite gauge set on the A pillar prior to installing TST power. I got ready to do the module and thermo couple for the EGT and the directions say the numbers on the module and thermo couple have to be the same or I may get inaccurate readings. Are these the...

    Best 5er ????????????

If you are going out in cold areas consider that windows have an R value of one or less. Large windows lose a lot of heat. They work the a/c harder too. Great views though! 2001, 34 ft "Americana" Cardinal. Completely ready for year round full timin'. Not one glitch in 6 trips since Sept...

Help! Need advice on 5er choice!!

Kev, about a year ago I bought my first 5er. I took someones advice and bought the best my budget would afford and couldn't be happier. I bought a 34ft. "Americana" edition Cardinal by Forest River. I ordered it "factory direct" from Russ Anderson. He calls his line Americana and has them...

    Geno's is Fantastic!

I've been ordering from Geno's for a while now and have always had FIVE STAR service! If I need it and Geno's has it that's where I order it. Besides the local Dodge dealer thinks the same filters are made of Gold!!! Their prices are at least 30% higher!

    Ultra-Lites at Genos???? Complete Package

I ordered the UltraLites from Geno's two days ago and they arrived today. They look great! Ordered the 3 gauge A post mount. Looks like a snap to install. Geno's was out of the less expensive pyro but has gotten in a mid price one that's not in the catalog yet.

    Counter Act Balancing Beads

I have the 19. 5 Alcoa Dual Designs with Michellin Pilots. The setup came with the balancing beads. I have 50K miles on them and they are wearing perfectly so far. I don't get any unusual vibrations on the road. I'm sure if you contact Dual Designs they can give you more info. I've also seen the...

    Gear Vendor vs. US Gear

Thanks for all the input! Based on what I've heard I think I'll probably go with the US Gear unit. The Pac brake arrived today along with The Auto Meter gauges. I know what I'll be doing tomorrow! The Pac brake directions seem to indicate that if I don't have the heavy exhaust springs in yet I...

    Gear Vendor vs. US Gear

I'm planning to add an auxilary transmission on my '98, 12 valve, NV4500. TST power, gauges and Pac brake are in the mail now. I have 3:55 gears and pull a 34 ft 5th wheel camper. I would appreciate any input on pros and cons between Gear Vendor and US Gear. Thanks for any info.

    Cummins shop in NC?

Thanks for the lead on the Charlotte shop Pete. Wes, I have a full set of the new style Auto Meter gauges on the way from Geno's. Mark at TST suggests putting the EGT probe in the exhaust manifold rather than after the turbo and exhaust brake. He claims the reading is more accurate...

    Cummins shop in NC?

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm in the Fayetteville area and work in the Smithfield area. The TST kit I'll do myself (doesn't sound too tough) and I may try the Exhaust brake myself too. The aux. transmission I'll have to have a shop install. Any opinions Gear Vendor vs. US Gears?

Does any one know of a good shop in the NC area that can do engine performance up grades, exahust brakes and under drive/over drive auxilary trannys? My truck is a '98, 3500, 12 valve, 5 speed. 90K miles. s/s 4" drop boards, Dual Designs, Mag-hytech, Kenwood 10 disc sound, custom mud flaps...
