My brother took his HO to the dealer to get the oil pressure guage voltage re-flash done. He called me to say that after he left the dealer, he noticed it smoking alot when he got on it and when he shifted. The truck is stock but My brother runs an EZ on it but takes it off before going to the dealer. He read me the re-flash that they did and it was the proper one for the oil pressure guage. WHAT gives??? Any ideas?

Your brother now has a useless oil pressure gage in his dash, sorry. DC just reflashed the ECM to accept a wider range of signal from the sender to keep the gage on the OK zone, cheaper for them than replacing it.

He would have been better off buying the 70$ oil pressure sender and replacing it himself, takes 5 min. Dc will tell you that changing the sender won't fix it but funny how a LOT of us have fixed it that way!

Reflashed are notorious for causing performance problems, I can't say what makes it smoke but I can't say that I'm surprised by a new problem after a reflash.

Maybe when he removed the EZ he did not get the MAP sensor hooked back up??? Did he complain of loss of power??

The truck was smoking light black... fuel. My brother called me yesterday and said he put his Edge back on and the boost elbow and It's running fine now. Maybe the ECM hadn't recalibrated its self after he took it off. It was towed to the dealer when he saw no oil pressure.

What a DUMB A$$ design for DC to do for a simple oil pressure guage!!! What ever happened to simple mechanical or separate circuit electrical oil pressure guages!!!
