Engine rebuilt and new clutch installed then. I was told then it needed a new Pilot Bearing and input shaft... . then was told 2 days later that the shop "polished" the input shaft, and it would be fine.
so, 60,000 miles later, the clutch slips. shop find the pilots bearing trashed, input shaft trashed, input bearing and seal... . Clutch covered in oil.
$1000 for trans repairs, $900 in Clutch and parts, $1000. 00 labor
New Slave and Master Cylinder installed.
Now the clutch engages about 2 inches off the floor, with 6" of slack at the top of the stroke. Very difficult to get into gear, and hard to shift.
Shop tells me it is Piece of S--- design, no way to bleed. Thinks it has air in the line, and know way to get it out. He "bench bled" both.
Then I look at the bill, says it is a NP4500 trans, when it is the SIX SPEED, which I thought was the NV 5600. He filled it with 75W90 SYN. gear lube. Is that correct?
Was I robbed?
