Finally have everything installed on the "01" that was on the old "99. " Finished installing the BD Exhaust Brake this weekend. Today when I took truck out on a 300 mile run I noticed that with the BD Exhaust Brake switch on and running with the Cruise Control ACTIVATED that the exhaust brake is activated. If I put a little pressure on the footfeed, the exhaust brake would de-activate. When I disengage the CC the exhaust brake operates normally. Did they change the Cruise Control setup from the "99s?" I've adjusted the switch by the footfeed several times and still operates the same. I'm a little confused, it looks like the footfeed can flop around when the CC is engaged.
Suggestions would be helpful.

Towing with a slight "edge" on the competition!

The ETH's cruise control is controlled by the ECM. It doesn't have the vacuum actuater that other cruise control's have. So the throttle pedal doesn't move with the cruise on on the ETH. You'lll have to wire the E-brake into the ECM, if your brand is set up that way.

Looks like more faulty information from the folks at BD. #ad
You would think they would know there products better than they do!

I think the 2001. 5's got rid of the vacuum servo.

Runaway,
If BD doesn't have the ECM pin available, then get ahold of Pacbrake... a few Pacbrake owners said they have them.

Just checked the service manual and it says 2001 with manual trans and diesel has no vaccume pot it is a servoless system. Piers just asked me to check this out for him and we are talking on the phone right now.

Piers e-mailed me this afternoon. Looks like they have two different set-ups they can control with. One with relays and the other thru the ECM witht the 2 - 3 second delay. I am going to call in the morning to see what system would best suit me. Maybe I'll just leave it the way it is now and leave the brake off when using cruise control.
Looks like I have to eat crow on this also as when I was asking about using my brake from th "99" to the "01's", they were still using the vacuum operated system. #ad
