Well two weeks ago I picked up my donor truck 01 ex-cab short box 5. 4 auto 2wd 175K for under $6K. I had a 99 dually chassis 4x4. So now the donor truck is 4x4 and lifted 3". My 12 valve is at the machine shop. I am running a NV4500 and SB DD 12 CB clutch and a DHD 241. The rear 80 just got lincoln locked and the front is open.
Couple questions for the guys who have done this conversion.
Can the stock Cummins vacuum pump run the vacuum booster for the brakes? I didn't think it would be a prob but I was thinking the dodges were vacuum boosted not hydro boosted, but thats not the case.
What alternator is being used in this application?
Anyone have any links to a wiring schematic for a 5. 4?
I am guessing that my check engine light will be on, just use resistors in place of the sensors not used?
