I know this has been touched many times but let me try to keep it simple. My truck has 30k miles on it and the last 15k has had the comp with wire tapped. My truck is still running fine. Fuel pressure 14-15 idle, 11 going down the freeway and 6 hammering it on 5x5. Being that said should I try to put a bandaid over the wound by installing a fass right away and hope it saves the pump or should I just ride it out til the pump fails and have it replaced under the 100k mile warranty? And if I do have it warrantied, does anyone know of a good dealership here in the central valley that is fairly easy to deal with since I have the comp tapped.

Whatever you do beware of taking it to the dealer for under warranty. I had the same thing happen to me. I had the edge comp on with the stealth pump cover. I took everything of and took it in to replace. They replaced the lift pump to the ITP and thought that was it for the fix. I had to take it back less than a week later and they replaced the VP with a new one. B4 I took it in I had 12 to 14 psi. Now i have 6 to 9 psi and it will drop to 3 or less at WOT.

I talked to somebody recently who had his injection pump replaced under warranty in Merced. His truck is highly modified. He took his edge comp and and some of the other mods [scotty, etc] off and said they were very good at looking the other way. Hope this helps.

tarpon I just heard the same thing from a friend of mine at Erb's diesel. He also said that the merced dealership is more of a heavy duty shop meaning that they are highly qualified mechanics for major work. Thanks for the info.

I took my truck to Swift Dodge in Sacramento on Arden Way and they changed my failing VP44 no questions ask and no hassels of any kind.
