Competition 1/4 mile question

My truck is an 03 Dodge QC 4x4 SO 5 speed 3. 73 with 315/70/17s, DPP 4" exhaust and AFE intake, as for weight, all I had in the back of the bed was a weather guard steel tool box and a bed mat.

Stock it ran 18. 0 at 74 with a 2. 35 60'

With EZ Edge it ran a 15. 9 at 84 with a 2. 06 60'

With Bully Dog 110 hp box it ran a 14. 9 at 88. 8 with a 1. 93 60'

Stock clutch is holding fine, even with the 4x4 launches. I like the Bully Dog box, I just wish the power came in faster after the shift, you can feel the box kick in. With the EZ Edge, the power was there right away, you never felt it, "kick in".

On the way back from the strip, feeling good, I ran into a little street racing action. I was cruising through town on my way home, minding my own business when I see him. He was a supercharged Ford Harley Davidson supercrew, with neon lights under the truck with all sorts of graphics stuck on the side of the truck, he was cruising very proud. I couldn't help myself, I switch my box on high and I show him what I got. Well, he showed me what he had and we where cruising side by side through town. We come up to a red light and before we can come to a complete stop, it turns green. We both hit it at about 15 mph and I was pulling away from him ever so slightly, we run to about 70 mph. OK, here comes the next red light. I pull mine into 4x4 before we come to a complete stop, and once stopped put the trottle on the floor and stick it in 2nd gear... . The light turns green, I launch and grab 3rd gear and look in my mirrow, I can still see this in my mind clear as day. He is in the turning lane, sideways, smoke coming off his rear tires and still spinning. I don't know how long he stayed sideways, or how long he stayed in the trottle thinking he would get traction. I let off after I hit about 60 mph, and after a while he comes flying by me and that was pretty much it. I tried it again at the next red light but he wouldn't give me any, maybe it was the police man sitting there.

You ROCK Swayse... :D

Great Kill. What I love to do next is tell them (without their asking), Yeah this old thing has 200,000 miles on it. You should see the reactions we get!!!!!!

P. S. Not in my truck but cruising with a buddy of mine.

DD turbo is on

Well the DD turbo is on, I like it. When to the strip again and pulled another 14. 9, but I was at 89. 07 mph instead of 88. 81. My 60' are not near as good now, stock turbo 1. 93, DD turbo 2. 00, so I lost a little launch and gained a little mph.

Clutch slipped away from me once racing some buddies in front of my house, but after that it was solid. I think a clutch is only a matter of time.

I'm thinking Injectors now, we'll worry about the clutch later.

Boost is about 33-35psi, and egt from a stop to 118mph (315 tires, checked with GPS) I can get it to about 1500 degrees. With the box off, it won't go over 1000 degrees.

I was riding with an HO/Auto stock turbo guy that had his probe post turbo and with his bully dog box set on high, he got it to 1100 degrees. He was making 31 psi with no boost elbow.

My buddies claim they can hear my turbo scream while they are in their truck driving 70 with their windows up, as I fly by at 90 to 100 mph. Explains all the weird looks I'm getting lately. :D

i am seeing 1300 bone stock even with airaid filter if i push it. something doesnt seem right i can hit right under 21lbs of boost stock is this right? you cant get yours to go over 1000 stock????

Cat,\

Drill a four inch hole in the airbox. It will let much more air in. I have two trucks both 3500 DRW. Truck with the EZ has more boost (elbow) and runs cooler. The truck with just an airaid filter, 1250* in fourth or fifth gear anytime. Normal boost on my stock truck is 21 psi. Egt's are about 1100 pulling a grade. If I hammer it 1250* The bombed truck with Airaid filter 4" hole in airbox, 5" exhaust, and EZ/Bullydog normal boost is 35-40 psi and egt's are in the 8's. WOT can see 1200 but that isn't until 100 mph.

I have no idea what the egt was with the stock turbo. But with the box off and foot to the floor it won't go over 1000 degrees on a hot day, with about 30 to 33 psi. I guess the DD turbo does more than just sound cool, it runs cool. :D

is the DD turbo that much louder? my turbo screams when i have the window down on the interstate a i pass an eighteen wheeler i give it lots of pedal the turbo and it is very loud saying shhhhheeeeeeeeeeee:D .

Ran my new 03 LWB Quad Cab with ARE Z topper and Toyo 33x13x18 tires last night. Beast ran a 15. 47 with the Edge EZ and an aFe air filter. Comes off the line soft (compared to my 1. 65 launches in old truck) but I leave at the same time, so I was cutting great lights, with the worst of the night being a . 596.

DD turbo is way louder. I never really noticed my stock turbo, but you can't ignore this one. I was not expecting such a loud turbo, windows up, ac on, it's still in your face, LOVE IT. :D I'm not a big fan of loud turbo whistle, but this one has a really cool tone to it. I don't even listen to radio anymore, much more fun listening to the turbo spool up going up a hill and spooling down on the back side, and this is at 7 to 9 psi of boost cruising down the road empty. This is the best way I can describe how loud it is, AC fan on one step below high, you can still clearly hear the turbo cruising down the road at 7 psi. If you turn the fan all the way to high, you can still barely hear the turbo cruising at 70 mph.
