Which Four Wheeler??

I looked it up in Yahoo. It is a shame it is out of my price range. The front of the car is *****en. At 0-60 in 6. 5 seconds it doesn't gather dust either. I wonder about the aluminum block and heads though. very nicely equiped.

It has Mercedes switchgear and running gear too. It IS a nice vehicle, even if the technology is just a bit dated. Drivetrain is from the current gen CLK if Car and Driver did their research right.

I've sat in one here in Houston and they are slick. I have two kids and a wife that wants a third, so there ain't no way I'm getting into a car like that for at least another 18-19 years.

Right now there are a couple on eBay...

I've been reading about this car for a couple years, gathering whatever insider info I could and watching for the "spy" shots. I saw it last year behind a roped off area, and yesterday got to crawl around one. (I've also seen a few of the other pre production mopars in the works. )

From what I can remember, it's basically the first real "joint production" vehicle between Daimler and Chrysler.

The SLK was being discontinued, so Chrylers designed a new body for it. The tried and true 3. 2 benz engine is dependable, but not too exciting. From everything I've read, the new body is extremely firm, and the car should be able to handle extremely well. Too bad it sounds a bit underpowered. But AMG should have a cure for that in a year or so...

I'm probably going to get one of these for my wife, once the novelty wears off and dealers aren't trying to get an outrageous premium. Then again, I'll just order it at invoice anyway, like I did my Durango and cummins.
