Competition First races for the 98'

Competition One Faast powerstroke!

Well guys, I have had a chance to chug on the dyno results from the weekend and here they are with disclaimers. ;)

First disclaimer - The new 6. 0 liter PSD with new 5 speed transmission is NOT dyno friendly (for me anyway). Downshifts happen on all runs so I have shift pikes that I needed to remove.

Second disclaimer - The Duramax was WAY low compared to others I have run. This weekend it finally came to me as to why. The Duramax does not allow full power UNTIL it is up to normal operating temp. I am almost certian it was not so I am replacing the numbers with another trucks runs that are closer to normal.

Stock 03 dealer trucks

Ford 6. 0 5 speed auto - 251. 8 hp / 424. 9 tq

Dodge 5. 9 HO auto - 260. 0 hp / 483. 4 tq

GM 6. 6 5 speed auto - 226. 3 hp / 416. 7

Chipped

Ford 6. 0 - 350. 0 hp / 599. 4 tq

GM 6. 6 - 334. 8 hp / 668. 0 tq

The dealer Dodge truck did not get a chip installed. Customers truck with and without.

Dodge - 250. 1 hp stock / 254. 7 chipped

466. 5 tq stock / 554. 8 chipped

The Dodge box actually showed a loss of power above 2700 rpm compared to stock.

I'd like to thank Childre Dodge, Legacy Ford, and Bellamy Strickland Chevrolet for bringing their trucks and everyone that came and made it a fun day.

David, great information. What does your data show for past runs on a stock 02 HO? Looks like it might be as good as the stock 03 Ford and Chevy's.

I don't have 2002 HO test data... sorry.

All boxes were from Bully Dog except for the Duramax and it was a 90hp Edge Juice. I believe the other two boxes were "Edge" boxes too but I am not certian.

The Dodge box showed a 40hp/90tq gain almost all of the way through the rpm band until 2600 rpm then dropped below stock levels above 2700 rpm on this truck.

The Ford chip made the 6. 0 PSD haul serious butt but did not remove the 95mph speed limiter.

The Juice was just that, the normal juice. Delivers more than promised and really makes the Dmax a truck. (90hp box that delivered 108+ hp and 250+ Tq )

I also tested a ANSA polished stainless 4" dual exhaust on a 6. 0 PSD, was impressive in quality and fit / finish. It showed about a 10hp gain across the board if my memory is correct.
