i haven't liked superlift dodge lifts since they made a crappy 3 link for the 2nd generation ram's. i would go with either the 2" leveling kit (daystars will work too) or go with either a skyjacker complete kit with new leafs or go with a pieced together lift (much cheaper usually) such as using the Dick Cepek long arms, skyjacker coils, DT trackbar, skyjacker drop pitman arm, and some custom rear springs such as Atlas.

Sorry to slightly hi-jack the post, but if any of you are looking to get rid of you factory control arms let me know... I want to experiment with some and see if they will fit on my lifted Cherokee, and the width looks perfect and length looks about right for about 7" of lift... BUT since I don't plan on lifting my tow rig, I wouldn't really know unless I could get my hands on some.

thanks in advance,

Dave Morris

noone makes a long arm kit for the 3rd gen trucks yet, but by the phone calls i've made it sounds like superlift will be the first :confused:nobodys in a rush, cepek said they just need to make a new bracket, a local fab shop could probly do it but... i think i'm gonna go with 5' skyjacker as ive run several of theyre lifts in past and they performed great UNLIKE another brand i had on my 01 (tuffcountry).

on pavementsucks.com skyjacker is by far the dominant lift but alot are running the cepek arms but were talking third gen here and 99% of the trucks there are 2nd gen.

This is not true. It does depend how long of arms you're talking about but mine are in the ballpark of 4 feet. Un fortunately I don't have any pictures of it I can get to at the moment but here's on from the net.

summit..... i totally agree. go to pavement and you will find lots and lots of guys running the straight skyjacker kits. the 5" kit will allow you to run 37's on a 2500. most of the guys over on pavement that have some wicked trucks have pieced together lifts. they may start with a kit but eventually will add long arms and custom leaf packs and stuff like that. im on pavement quite a lot.

well alrighty then, my foot dont taste soo good. ive been waiting and have called last week skyjacker, cepek, superlift and they all said not yet? i dont get it. which lift do you have cuase im ALL over it!!! that truck looks awesome. whats with the bags? kelderman?(i havent called them  )

Yea, Kelderman. His stuff is pricey but very well engineered. My truck with 5" lift and stock tires handles as good as stock and rides better. Find me another lift that does that. Give Jeff a call and see if he'll sell you just the long arms and bracketry for the front. Here's their website:

yeah just jumped over to theyre site and found the pics. looks like a great kit for the street but i cant see where it would articulate all that great off roading. i'll sacrifice ride for function anyday, i use my truck in the hills all the time. how much cutting was involved with the long arms? is it perminent?i'll call tomorrow for a price on just the arm kit.

No cutting on the 5" kit. There are a couple brackes to space the top hole on the axle up that require a couple holes in each side, no big deal. The lower arms use the stock hole in front and a pair of bolt on brackets on the crossmember. All totally reversable. The new design (as pictured above) is used with the 10" kits and has two arms that go back to the frame, mine only has one. I use the stock hole on the upper rear.

Articualtion? The bars are threaded on both ends for length adjustment. If you leave one end free (don't set the locknut) it could twist and with the other end locked would not change length.

Does anyone make custom leaf springs for out trucks yet? I know are trucks have werid rear springs. And does anyone make custom front springs? I was thinking of making a custom lift for mine and making my own arms, I just saw a truck like mine get put together w/ a 8" lift and 40's w/ airbags in the rear because he had a (*&#(&*@ of heavy metal (bumpers, on top of the cab)

go with atlas. they are quality and he is a good guy and also a member of pavementsucks.com. on the 3rd generation rams it doesn't take long for the track bar to bottom out from what i understand. the flex is no where near the 2nd generations.

I don't care about offroad articulation... this is a TOW RIG. :D

Still not sure w/ what lift I want or hte size of tires. Wish there were more pics of trucks without the gay fender flares.

if you just want it as a tow rig, throw on some 2" spacers in the front and run some 35's. i don't plan on doing much to my truck since it will be a tow rig. that doesn't mean that i won't be taking it out or doing anything to it, just not going overboard.

if you are going to be towing then you would need to regear but nothing more than a 4. 10 in my opinion. if your truck was just to play around in i think the 3. 73's are enought with that CTD 600 pushing them.

That's assuming you're going to settle for 600 ft/lbs. I plan on a final drive ratio equivilent to 3:1 and I'll tow with it. Just cause you've got a bunch of gears doens't mean you have to use them all.
