on my 05 ctd i added the fuel pressure guage from geno's garage with the isolater and billet fuel filter cap with port, seems to work good. when cold the pressure reads 7-8 psi. gradually increases the more you use the truck, on my road trip i was doing between 65-73 mph for about 10 hours. pressure was reading anywhere between 7 and 18psi with the same speed on flat ground. on way home i got stuck in heavy traffic, basically it took about 1 hour to do 1. 5 miles, so it was mostly just idleing their. while then the fuel pressure went up and pinned my guage on 30, so i dont know just how high it went. is this normal? once traffic broke and was able to do 60+mph the pressure went back to about 16-18, took about 10 miles to do so, and stayed their. also it holds pressure when truck is not running, even overnite, is that normal also? . what is the normal pressure for my truck?? is somthing not functioning correctly, i know 2 times now i have got code p0148, fuel delivery error, dealer wont look at it cause i have an air intake. thanks guys.

That sounds really strange.

My stock l/p would read 5-8psi at idle depending on outside temps and trip length. Cruising pressure is between 5 and 7psi. Of course it will pull down to 0 with a box or two turned up.

The only time I pegged the gauge was when turning the truck over and letting the key go too soon. The gauge squealed and pegged at 30 psi. Who knows what the real reading was...

My gauge is tapped at the CP3, on the clean side of the filter. I have a mechanical gauge with an isolator.

Perhaps you'll have more consistent readings if you change the filter.

If you have an electronic gauge (like the Westach), make sure you have both the gauge and the sender grounded to the same spot, and that all your connections are good.

On edit:

Fill out your signature so we can see what you've got. Truck specs, mods, etc. It will be much easier to help you.

What kind of isolator are you using? I've head of some of them not bleeding off. I can't really give you advice from my experience because you have an in tank lift pump that they didn't start using til 05.

whichever kind of isolater geno's garage sells. i think its fine though. with truck off if i turn the bleeder screw on the fuel side of the isolater fuel comes out until it goes down to zero psi then stops.

The one that came with my Isspros is a Di Pricol isolator.

I turned the key to run (for some reason after a dealer visit the l/p doesn't shut off for about 30-40 seconds), and bled the isolator until no more air came out. All has been fine since.

-Did you fill the top of the isolator with antifreeze?

-How about the tubing?

-How old is your fuel filter? Have you changed it?

-Have you checked for leaks? After my 1st start after the install, the fitting I installed on the isolator leaked a bit.

no leaks, filled isolater and tubing, no air bubbles at all, filter has about 3k on it, that including the 2500 miles i just put on it this past weekends road trip. pulled the filter and it still looks good.
