So I found out why the engine has low oil p. Again, it goes back to my notes. I actually caught the issue but did not understand the significance as this is my first engine build. The crank was turned down .010 on the main and rods and I had standard size bearings. So my actual oil clearance was .012 NOT .0025 like the plastigauge indicated. The chain of errors started when I noticed the crank gear was offset a few degrees from the KDP kill. The pin was almost sheared. So I bought a new crank. THAT one measured 3.250 on vernier caliper but the TM says it should be 3.266 by MICROMETER. I noted the issue and even put an asterisk by it . The red (fat) plastigauge was misleading bc it PARTIALLY crushed to .003 when actual clearance was .012. I chalked up the difference to an inaccuracy from the HF calipers. I have mics now. Actual size was 3.257. I have the correct size bearings on order. The crank was also marked M-.010 R-.010 on the first counterweight. Now I’m working the oil in all of the exhaust manifold issue. Sent the head to a 12 valve machine shop for checking and guides. They are strongly recommending guide liners as opposed to actual guides. The owner said actual guides in a 12 valve head tend to move due to something about the way they have to be pressed in after boring out the other one. I know the community is split on liners. Thoughts?

Cody. Where are you at? Maybe a nearby member could lend you a set of micrometers. I'm a little concerned about a potential egg-shape on one or more of the cylinders.
