Ok, last response and I'll get off it... . the post was about which truck is faster... . a. I posted my experience (as unscientific as it may be) b. I posted a ref to the Diesel Power Mag (assuming it's more scientific) that clearly states that the Dodge is faster in a 0-60 contest c. you basically called me an idiot and accused me of wasting your time... . yes, I thought that pretty rude, my bad.

As far as typical rude los angeles driver... . maybe I wasnt clear enough in my original post... . 2 lanes at a stop light..... there will be 30 cars in the left lane, the one that people should be in... . then the "LA" drivers bypass everyone waiting and pull up to the light in the right lane which is the one that is about 600' long, is clearly deliniated as a not supposed to merge (6" solid line with right turn only sign, but rather than making a right turn at the end of the 600'..... they merge to get ahead of everyone..... so if that makes me the typical "LA" driver then I guess I am.....

Ok, I'm done, I was just trying to put my 2 cents in, and didnt appreciate being called an idiot or that I was wasting peoples time... .

Oh, you mean the guy that didn't show up and made me wait at LV raceway all night? Tell the full story junior, not to mention the non-returning of phone calls. Another wasted post imo.

Gia, never called you an idiot, just pointed out that your test results were fairly baised and meaningless. Thanks for the education on how to merge however on LA freeways

Hey... you're an idiot and you're wasting everyone's time! :-laf

;) just messin with ya!

man people need to lighten up around here! No one is going to give anyone else a successful driving lesson over an internet message board!

the fact is... it's all anecdotal evidence, but that's what forums are all about... no one is going to buy anyones proof of anything, so take it for what it is...

I reserve judgement for anyone on here despite what they might have said in an open forum... you're welcome to pop a cold one a shoot the schtick with me anytime if you're in the area... c'mon people let's remember we're all brothers here! Stop throwin stuff! :)

Remember, most of those Fords with 6. 0's come with 4. 10 or 4,30 gears...

I test drove one with 4. 30 gears and it was fast...

Put 4. 30's in your Dodge and then run those Fords... ;)

The 4. 30 gears is only in a certain package/tow command and the 450/550 series. In fact if I'm not mistaken the 4. 10 is rare in the 2500/3500 series.

Mr. Ketchum,

I am sorry sir your information is incorrect... As I stated, I test drove a 350 srw with the 4. 30 gears. Also, I have a pamphlet that liststhe 4. 30 gears as a option along with the others for the F350.

after spending lots of time looking at trucks, talking to others who own these [both ford and dodge]trucks, and spending at little time in at least one ford service dept[have a good friend thats the service manager there]i would say the most common rear ratio is the 3. 73 . . oh yea,the 4. 30 ratio is now a option on the f350 with the tow command pakage. .

I stated the 4. 30 was someting to do with Boss tow/tow command/450/550 series. whatever. from reading the Ford sites on a regular basis It didn't cross my mind that a LOT of comments about the 4. 10s etc. being very rare. The common gear in them is 3. 73. darn with 4. 30s it ought to pull. A 300 gas six would pull with that. I've been reading the Ford sites almost as much as TDR and DTR. The 6. 0 is junk. Yea its fast but shoved down the comsumers throats amlost like the old 5. 7s of G. M. design.

Actually BiLLUA your are incorrect the only ratio offered on a SRW F-350 with the 6. 0L diesel is 3. 73's. You have to get the DRW to get 4. 10's and you have to get the DRW and the tow boss pkg (53B) to get 4. 30's I just read the order guides for 2006.

Sorry Dieselboy...

I have the 05 guide right in front of me and it lists 4. 30 as a option for the F350 SRW and DRW... Also the 05 F350 SRW that I test drove had the 4. 30's in it. . :-{}

Cheers All!

Back on Topic: I raced ANOTHER 6. 0 2wd powerstroke today. He has the diablo predator programmer set on 65hp. I put the TST on 5/3 and spanked him like a red headed step child. 10 mph role and a dead stop. Same results. 3-4 truck lengths through 3rd. NEXT?

Hey Donn that would be because l'm not a scientist :D Have you ever owned a 6. 0L? If you did you would know. Stock to stock it would eat my cummins alive. I have owned both and believe my it has more power than my CTD. Will it out last it no way. The cummins is twice the engine that's why I bought one.

We have one 2004 Lb7 2004,and My Signature truck. The stock 6. 0 (running correctly) will spank any Dodge CTD stock. the LLY & LB7 will say right will the 6. 0. Wieght is a big factor the stock 2500 CCSB Dodge weight is about 7100 dry. the F-250 CCSB 6. 0 6800 dry,the Duramax CCSB 6500 dry. When you start to mod the CTD will spank the 6. 0 up to 90 mph than the 6. 0 will pull away. Both the CTD and the Duramax are more friendly when it comes to aftermarket products. Our built LB7 has not been spank yet on the street. In Minnesota the only strip is in Brained and it is almost impossible to get a truck on it. My Dodge takes the 6. 0 and the Duramax out of the hole every time with each having upgraded trans.

When we pull are machine's around the country the CTD spanks the 6. 0 and the Duramax at every hill and average about 1 to 2 MPG better. You have to take into account that not all trucks can be modded the same,Trans,Box,Program, injectors,Turbos, this is just a general observation.

:-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf I also agree with this statement 100% also! Ford has always built cr@ppy junk, and WILL continue to build cr@ppy junk!!! I notice Ford doesn't say they have a "better idea" any more, wonder why??? :-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf

If you want junk, go down the street, Ford will sell it to ya, if you want a REAL truck, go up the street to a Dodge dealer. Go to the local sale barn here, Dodges out number Fords 2 to 1, I wonder why???
