Well, I'd sure like to try this one again. After I asked if anyone was experiencing the Check Gauges Light remaining on 1/17 and got 65 viewers but no replies, I did some more research and found that indeed this same issue was discussed on this forum 12/26/04 regarding '05 trucks. While waiting at the dealership when I originally took my truck in for a fix of the problem, there were two other new truck owners in with the same problem, so I don't think its just my truck. According to my dealership's service department, the problem is a programming error which falsely reads a defective ambiant battery temperature code and the check gauges light stays on. Apparently Dodge thought they had a fix last month, but it didn't work. For the '05 and earlier truck owners with the problem, they can switch the key on/off three times, read the code and if the ambient temp code, clear it. The '06s do not have that option. I don't want to beat up on Dodge, I want to find a way to check then clear the code on my '06, and I'm hopeful that someone on this forum has figured out how to do that. As long as the Check Gauges Light remains on, I'm blind to any other engine control problem which would trigger the light, so I'm pretty interested in finding a work around until Dodge solves the software problem.
