My truck(06, automatic,4 door 37K miles stock)has had the following problems right after the 36K warrenty expired. Actually I have had the trailer light problem for months but just got around figuring it out and to fixing it. The right turn light on my farm trailer was not working and I figured it was just the bulb. Then the right turn light on my boat trailer was not working and finally when the right turn light on my camping trailer was not working I decided to investigate and fix the problem. I did all of the usual tests and found that there was no power to the left turn signal at the trailer plug. That was the limit of my skill level so I took it to the dealer. I am so glad I bought the extended warrenty. The repair was a light module and labor $900.
I got that fixed and on a trip this week the blend door broke. I don't know how much that will cost, but I am sure it will take me over the $1000 I paid to get the extra warrenty.
Also my rear axle (372) or something in that neighborhood is clunky when making turns. This happened last year after having the oil changed and replaced with Dodge rear axle oil. My dealer could not find the problem, but while on a trip another dealer poured in an anti friction additive and the problem went away. That was 15k miles ago and the problem came back. I fixed it by adding another bottle of anti friction. The owners manual says that no additive is necessary. Does anyone have a suggestion for this problem?
One more problem and I will quit. My dome lights would turn off after 10 seconds so the dealer reprogramed my pcm. After the reprogram my truck started getting 18 mpg instead of the pitiful 13 to 14 that it was getting. How is that possible. Also the doom lights now work... how about that.
Thanks for listening
Charlie
