I installed the complete newer style steering kit on my 06' and it helped slightly but did not cure the typical lazy steering situation (I installed the kit at 72k and now have 82k). I installed new Michlens, upper and lower ball joints, Dealer alignment, my alignment plus gave it total positive caster, steering box rebuilt (synthetic fluid), new Rancho 5000 shocks, and Dynatrac Free Spin kit. Here is an interesting note: If you have an assistant move the steering wheel while you are under the truck observiing the steering motion... . pay close attention to the inner tie rod end (passenger side). As the steering wheel FIRST moves the tie rod end rotates before the tie rod starts to move the wheels, To me, it looks like a lot of motion (movement) is lost due to this rotating movement... . I agree with EDankievitch, the toe in needs to be right around 1/16", I adjusted mine on a trip from Northern CA to Dallas. Every tank, I pulled over and adjusted my threads in or out untill the front tires started to wear completely smooth... I had a 3000 lb camper on the back and tire pressure was 80 PSI rear and 65 PSI front. It is also noted that the truck steers better loaded.
