Are there any parts available for the 08+ style linkage? I ask because my 05 has the upfitted linkage style and my driver side tie rod broke. Rather than pay $400+ on a completely new assembly, I would rather just buy a new tie rod and install it. I thought when they first came out that they were only available as a complete assembly, just wondering if anything changed and there are serviceable parts available.

Thanks!

Check Rock Auto and see if they list them. The updated linkage has a new tie rod and drive side TRE but not sure oyu can buy them separate yet.

If your drivers side tie rod end broke on the genuine Mopar 08.5 linkage that you installed on the truck, then it is subject to warranty replacement under the N62 steering linkage recall. If you have a receipt for the part that would be easiest, but if you have a decent relationship with a service dealership, that would also likely work becuase they are being paid to replace the parts after an inspection determining that it is subject to the recall, which simply means it was a genuine 08.5 linkage assembly and not the earlier Y type linkage originally installed on your truck. The linkage is being recalled becaase of the occasional tendencey for the drivers side tie rod end to break under some conditions. FYI-- my 2005 has the uprgaded linkage and IS subject to free replacemnt under the recall.

Do a quick search on N62 if you want more info.

The linkage is a mopar part. I bought it from source auto when they first came out with it. (in 2010 I believe) The way it is modified is that it has zerk fittings. I could get the truck to a dealer and see what they say. Worse case is they say no. I did find this part which looks like it might work http://www.xtremediesel.com/moogleftoutertierodendes800532.aspx

Pretty sure that as long as they see it is a MOPAR part, it will still be covered by the recall, ESPECIALLY since it has suffered the broken TRE.

ALSO, I actually want to install zerks in the new linkage BEFORE my dealership installs it on my truck...isa there a way that you could take and post-up a close-up pic and/or a few good measurements of where Source drilled for the zerks...it would help me and maybe some other guys out alot!! TIA

Actually did find the tie rod that I was looking for on the xtreme diesel site I posted above for a very good price. Installed it in my drive way in an hour and back on the road. I took it to a dealer and they said it would be covered under the recall but I would have to tow the truck there. I had just spent $170.00 to get it back to my house and it would be another tow bill to get it to the dealer. So I figured I might as well do the tie rod my self.

seafish, the zerk fittings are drilled in the sender of each joint. 4 zerks total. The top zerk by the pitman arm has a 90 degree fitting. Hope that helps!
