First time poster..... First Cummins, first everything diesel 2500 related. I had drivers side tie rod end snap. Thankfully in a parking lot. It has already had the recall completed and drivers side replaced once since according to the local dealer. My question is what brand steering linkage parts, and ball joints do you guys recommend? Thanks for the info.

I put this kit on my 2012 2500 around 50k miles and have had zero trouble. Dodge front ends suck.

Would it were I could get the t-type drag links to last that long, about 30k was the best. By 100k the TRE's were done and on the 3rd drag link, converted to cross over steering to get rid of that problem and the inherent dead spot at center with the t-type.

Cross over parts from the new trucks will require the complete axle and then you have to deal with the CAD. To adapt to the 5 link will require everything from the axle C's and stub shaft out then re-engineer the OE or adapt the sway bar from the newer truck. Still less work to adapt the Ford steering TRE's and drag link to the existing system. The parts are beefier and for the most part it is bolt on for new wheels and steering parts. The stock track bar is a big problem but it isn't too bad to move it to the top of the axle and fix its screwy angles.

While I haven't gone through the entire axle... after looking over my friend's 17 and comparing it to my 13 the only thing I see aside from the linkages that would have to be changed is the passenger side steering knuckle. I think the sway bar linkage will clear also. I really like how the newer system has the drag link ties to the passenger knuckle rather than the cross bar. Much less flexing better control. My plan is to really look into it when my current system fails. Right now I've got 84k miles on everything aside from having to do the ball joints last winter everything is nice and tight drag link and tierod end wise.

Brake mounting points are different, possibly use the later setup. Not sure on hubs they look slightly different also. Width on 4th gen is 1/4 wider and wheels offset to accommodate. Sway bar will not allow correct geometry unless link mounting points are changed or different bar used. Lower ball joints are larger on cross over steering setups. That would require reaming lower part of axle C, not sure there is enough material there to do that. Axle and hub C's I believe are different measurements, initial measurements indicate you would need everything from the axle C outboard to make it fit correctly. It looks close but measurements indicate it may be close enough. Both the sway bar and track bar need relocated so it is just a bolt on deal, going to be some manufacturing and welding there to make clean. The Ford system is closer a bolt on but it does require reaming and some pipe bending. Some more relocation work and a custom insert and it can be made a bolt on system for changing parts. A little les work for the same results.
