1/4 mile times for 1rst gens

I just ran my truck a couple of weeks ago and wanted to see how i fared compared to other first gens. I usually dont see many guys running 1rst gens so thats why i ask.

So, how fast were you? I havent been to a track, but my time would suck, due to the fact I have to take my time shifting my old Gutrag. But I can still hit the governor in 5th by 2 tenths on the odometer . Not bad for a "slightly" tuned stock pickup.

I'd like to run the 1/4 mile, but I don't have a track anywhere close.

Yeah, i'd like to run too, but i'd have to get through Milwaukee to get to one, with is 2hrs away, or go 1 hour away through Chippewa Falls, i think there's one there

see sig, This was going through the traps at 75 defeuled, I could not get overdrive so was speed limited, I have since added a computer bypass switch so that I can force it into od, but did not get a chance to rerun before track closed for season. New England Dragway is only about 10 miles from home. If you do a search you should come up with more peoples times, I think I posted when I ran something like. . "1/4 mile vs rear wheal hp"it would have been back in October... . I was the only Cummins running that night, there was a new Duramax...

The only time I ran mine was before I boosted the power up to what it is now. I was having a problem with the transmission not shifting into overdrive and was out of RPM's about half way down the track. Ran 17. 1 at 72 mph.



I would expect to be in the upper 15's now and somewhere around 85-90 mph with the setup I have today. I don't start to defuel at 2600 RPM like I used to and the OD problem is fixed. Truck is a lot stronger.

14. 7 in the 1/4 mile and like most of you I couldn't get it into O. D.

Got that fixed now but the truck up here closed for winter at the end of Sept.

Thanks for the reply's. I guess i didnt do to bad for what Ive got. I just held the throttle down and never lifted to shift. The first time i ran the truck i pulled a 2. 15 60ft. and went a 15. 85 then the temp. droped later in the day and the last run was a 15. 63 but the 60 ft was down to a 2. 23 if i would have pulled the 2. 15 60ft on the last run the truck would have went 15. 4's. I hope to get the truck into the 14's. I think i can, i still have a stock H1c copressor,and stock 3in. exh. I'll try to get those things taken care of this sring. But first ive gotta get another trans for my real drag car (73 Comet). That isnt going to be cheap. Thanks again for the info... ... ... .....
