I ran some quarter times on the way home from work today. I did three runs, but screwed the last one up pretty bad, so I threw it out. I didn't launch as well as I think I could have, so I'll try more at a later date. Here are the two runs that I made.
17. 93 @ 83. 4 mph
Using elapsed time - 240 hp / Using MPH - 316. 9 hp
17. 84 @ 78 mph
Using elapsed time - 243. 6 hp / Using MPH - 259. 2 hp
Truck weight - 7000 lbs.
Someone want to do the math to verify this. I used both formulas in the current issue of the TDR, page 36. Anybody care to elaborate on the discrepancy in engine output between the two runs while the rear wheel HP seems to be pretty consistent. I want to try this again when the weather cools off and after an oil change to see if there is a difference. I also had the fan off.
