I know several 3RD gen's truck have reached this milestone, but I finally made this milestone of 100,000 miles. On are way to the Gulf Shores for a month stay the OD turn over 100,000 miles. My wife was able to get a picture on her phone of the 100,000 miles mark for me.Truck is in pretty good shape with only a little bit of rust on the passanger side rear bed wheel well, not bad for a nine year old truck. Bought new in Nov, 2007.
Planning on getting the rust fix maybe this winter when we get back.

Congratulations on 100K! What kind of troubles have you run into mechanically, and I assume you've been religiously maintaining the truck?

Safe travels,

The only issue I have had that was not planned maintenance, was approximately at 83,000 miles. I had the drag link joint fail on the right hand side as I was crossing some very rough railroad tracks. I was doing about 15 to 20 MPH at the time and the joint failed losing steering. When this was fixed I had all the ball joints replaced and the drag link joints also. I have the earlier style steering linkage since my truck was built in late 2007 and have kept that style of linkage.

What was the advantage to sticking with the old style versus upgrading to the T style steering?

I kept the old style steering linkage since I like the steering damper retention point on the rod. I did have the steering linkage recall inspection and the dealer said the truck did not qualify for the linkage update. So why spend the extra money for a simple design change that the current linkage is adequate for.

Very good sir, thank you. Glad to hear your '08 is solid and reliable.
