Sleddy, I gotta put my two cents in here too ya know.

Since we all agree that Oregon is in the middle of the country, just where is this east / west line anyway?????????

Anyway, how abouts if you're so confident that the west coast can't build a 1000hp engine... . by ourselves, with no east coast parts, how about we put some money on it. You guys on the east coast build a truck, we'll build one on the west coast, we'll meet in the middle [Oregon] LOL and dyno, who ever wins, the other team pays the winning teams bills :--)

I don't think of you as east or west you're kind of in a group all of your own. As with many things in life you can play on any team you want, just read the political section, that's what the lefties say.

East VS. West

Just remember what happened to 'Tupac' and 'Biggie'... East/West wars didn't pan out so well for gangstah rap.

I agree with Jim... . like him, I'm darn close to the good old Mississippi River... which is usually deemed the dividing line that defines East or West.

Matt

Matt, I agree, the Mississippi used to be the dividing line, but that was many decades ago. Now with Alaska & Hawaii being part of the USA, the new middle of the country becomes Oregon :D As for North and South... ... ... . I think Oregon would still be in the middle don't you? As for getting along, we're all just havin fun:p

Middle of the US...

Oregon it is. :D

This is tremendous fun... I doubt the diesel crowd will ever loose their sense of humor.

Isn't Canada the 51st state, anyhow? :)

Matt

So now that everyone knows that 1k hp is not only possible but had been done what does it cost to build the 1k hp engine. . ? 10 k 20k... ? I need to know how much to save up..... LOL

Craig

P. S. I won't wear "colors" so it doesn't matter what side I am on;)

Craig: I figure since you're at least 1/2-way to 1k HP... . then you just need to double your investment it took to get to that point to get to your goal. :-laf (If only that were true... . )

Piers: You don't look much like a terrorist or a drug traffic type of guy... . BUT, they might start questioning how many ponies you are smuggling underneath the hood of that 2WD Ram of yours. :)

NO, YOU decided Oregon was the middle, I just laughed!!

Now thats a lot of guff from a guy who hasn't officially competed in any sport yet with is truck!!:D

East /west line, I'll make it easy.

West is anybody who thinks 1000 hp has not been broke in Indiana, Ohio.

West is also anybody who thinks that anybody in the state of California, Nevada, or Texas, or BC is leading the country in power, without Indiana or Ohio parts/technology, bought or otherwise.

As far as betting, I can't. You and Jason liberated me of my last dime, and I lost 140+ hp. Ouch. :(

That said, I caution you at doing something like that, if you are basing your power on your new dyno.

I believe it is reading high, possibly to having been calibrated to Canadian square wheels?:D :D

I kinda like that idea... I must have the fastest sub-400hp truck in the world!! :D

Wonder if one of those 1000+hp trucks will ever roll off the dyno and come out here to show me who's boss on the track... ? Prob'ly a big waste of money to drive so far just to be beat by a girl...

How big an event do we need to draw these Gods of horsepower over here? I'll put up money in my own defense, and a couple other West coast boys too. ;) The strong silent types...

No Rhonda... . I have the fastest sub 400hp pickup (106mph) You have the quickest (12. ?):D :D   :p :p

The way I figure it up here in the great white north, we are in a class of our own. We use Gelled Diesel fuel for slushies, and can't run high horsepower and torque on the street cause even with STOCK power you slip and slide all over the road when the weather is good! :D 4wheel drive is mandiatory, as well as your block heater. I wanna see a 1000hp truck drive through 2 feet of snow on your way to work.

Josh

It's all in good fun, I figure I'm gonna make a shirt for muncie that has East on one side, and West on the other.

Aah, I stand corrected (12. 68)! :p My mph does leave something to be desired... :( Although on the open road I get 'er there easily enough.

jtisdale, you're a sick puppy. Get help. ;)

Josh, that's what valet switches are for. :)

That would imply they have anaroids on them-NOT!

Josh is right, it is difficult to drive in snow with a hand throttle and a stick shift, let alone all 4 locked, with a drop box pushing snow ... . :D

I believe the truck you're talking about is in the April 2004 issue of Four Wheeler magazine. He is one of the entrants for the Top Truck Challenge 2004. It's a 1994 Suburban with a 24 valve Cummins. It supposedly has twin turbos (150 psi of boost) and making 850 HP/ 1500 ft. /lbs. of torque. If you have the issue, see page #54. -Glen

Yeah its in four wheeler. Makes a lot of sense to have a truck with 44 inch tires with 850 hp and 1500 ft lbs... . what a waste, and id like to see how many parts are broken daily...
