I purchased the TST #11 and planned on buying the 3 GSK until a guy at the TST booth at TiM said that this combination will make my truck run worse than stock. Can anyone explain this? Does it make any sense? I have seen guys on here with this combination I think.

I am going with the #10 as soon as I can get a clutch which hopefully be soon. But I just wanted to find out if that would happen if I install the GSK now.

I sure don't get his statement. I had the #11 with the 4k springs. Of course it ran better ... more fuel is a wonderful thing. Unless your a stock clutch or rear tires. :{

One thing that was fixed was that loooong gap between 3rd & 4th. It basically "goes away" with fuel & the springs make it go away even more. ;)

I have been told this also. I think it has to do with the fuel curve of the #11, there won't be any low end power. I'm also going to replace my Banks plate with a #10 as soon as I get a SB clutch.

I run a TST #11 plate with stock springs and the power increase is tremendous. I routinely gross 24K to 30K with my gooseneck trailer in tow. You will be surprised at the power increase by just changing to the #11 plate.

I agree the 11 and GSK doesn't work in some trucks...

I agree with that statement. If you do a search you will find me trying to get help on this subject. Everyone said adjust the lever, move the plate, ect... . I tried everything. Adjusted the gov. springs, checked for boost leaks, adjusted the "secret lever", moved the plate from 1/4 forward to full forward (and adjusted the "secret lever" in different positions... ... ... I tried everything and could make it better but never that feeling that I should. On top of that I knew there was something wrong when I couldn't get the EGT's over 1200 pulling a steep hill, loaded, foot to the floor with only a straight pipe and a mega-cannon for air enhancements. I called Harry at Piers, and told him my dilemma. He said it might be fuel pressure (after checking that), he also said that in some cases the #11 / 4k GSK doesn't work very well (I'm assuming it may be the same for the 3k). He suggested a #10. I installed the #10 andOo. Oo. Oo. Wow. I couldn't believe I was driving the same truck. It wasn't even 1/2 way forward and the thing ran like a scalded dog. I recently changed to a 13. 125 OFE and can't wait to slide it forward a little. But I can speak from experience that the 4K kit and the #11 didn't work in my truck, and wasn't for lack of effort.

#11

I moved my #11 all the way up from about half way back today. When we installed on Sunday (TST power kit) after TiM it was only about half way and still nice improvement but not much smoke but more boost was the big thing. So slid plate all the way, getting more fuel now. Much faster with just the #11. Need a new clutch before continuing with more bombs I think.

Thanks for the help, I will wait for new clutch and #10 before installing GSK. Could I install the #10 now without a new clutch and leave the plate back some? and still get the results of the #11 or would it be to much for stock clutch?

Thanks for all the help.

TrqMonster, I'm no expert on these .....

... trucks, but I speak only from what I've figured out on my own. My clutch was a Luk Gold clutch from standard transmissions (which i've been told is slightly better than OEM Dodge but was told that Luk builds the stock clutch????) and I have my #10 about 1/3rd forward from full back (or 2/3rds back from full forward). My truck did not have any clutch problems until the front seal on the transmission leaked fluid onto the Luk clutch. The power was very smooth and much easier to drive with the lack of refueling (even with a 215 pump which seamed to pull to 2800 or so until I drove it with the GSK) since you have a broader range to make the shift. This is very nice with coffee in the morning. You can rev it alittle more than normal under lite acceleration (up to 2900 or so) without the guy behind about rear-ending you because you where putting your coffee down to shift and the pump decides to defuel. Anyway I think you will like the power quality with the #10 better with a GSK with the plate back until you get the clutch.

My 11 (slid back from stock a little) and 3k springs will still slip the clutch. The SBC cono is in the garage. As soon as it's in I'll put MY plate back in it. I'll move the lever up a little more too. Craig

#11 and 3k GSK work fine in my truck. These are the only real power bombs done to this truck and it turned 369 hp / 900 tq on a dynojet at altitude. This is with the plate slide about 1/2 way forward from stock. 115k on the odo. I thought my clutch was smoked but it turns out the throw out bearing was leaking grease and flinging it everywhere in there including on the clutch surface. At least now the lil' woman can't blame my bombitis on the price of a new clutch. :D The truck makes plenty enough smoke, jumps right to 30 psi boost when I get on it. It'll ease up to 34-35 after that, but typically I run out of gear before and need to shift. The 3-4 shift span is nearly gone.

#11

I moved my #11 all the way up and I have plenty of power. It sure would be nice to rev higher. I going to try the GSK, one person with problems and many with no problems, I think I will take my chances. Besides, hopefully new clutch soon and #10 so this wont be a problem long if it is at all.

Thanks for all the help everybody, it has been really appreciated.

#11 and Gov. springs

When I installed the #11 plate, I got the advertised increase in HP and torque. Later, after 4k gov. springs were added, I was very disappointed and could never figure out, until now, why that would be. Swapping the #11 for a #10 made all the difference in the world. Oo. Oo. Oo.

I just installed the #10 Plate (adjusted about halfway) and 3KGSK from Piers and the truck runs like a scalded dawg. Oo. Amazing difference.

I highly recommend this setup for slightly bombed trucks like mine. Piers told me that the 3KGSK just really seems to like the #10 plate.

When I bought my plate, PDR suggested a #11 and no GSK (3 or 4). So far I'm pretty happy with it in the stock location.
