Competition 5 or 6 speed for pulling and racing???

I has really hoping to break into the 11's but it did not happen last night :( The track was very loose and traction was hard to come by. Now that I am launching in first gear and getting a good burnout (thanks to a roll control) I have knocked a half second off my 60ft times even tho I was NOT hooking up!!! By the looks of this picture I am getting plenty of fuel

I did beat this guy :D

Don't sweat it Hoss, your doing fine. Your getting close to the limits of the stock suspension, same thing Fletcher, Joe Hellman did as well as me when I get there. Keep chuggin' after it..... your learning now!

Jim

I agree with George. Looking very good. By the way Hoss, what type of traction bar do you run? Your axle wrap has to be mean.

Some way we have to get the trucks out there and ours on the track at the same time. Any ideas?. . Besides, it's only 3000 miles apart. But the best part is getting to meet each other.

I just got back from Mission

I had a time trial of 12. 18 @ 117mph :D

I finally got a 60ft time under 2 seconds  a 1. 912

that is my best run so far!!!!!!!!!!!

I had to get to the line in such a hurry that I did not get a chance to air down my slicks, I ran with 25psi :( but even with all that air pressure My traction was good thanks to the screws I put in the slicks yesterday (with the help of young Will Fletcher) :D

By those times, I can tell what transmission you got, It's time to turn the side of your truck into a billboard, bow down to the transmission Gods "S/C"

Thought Nowel's truck did have a S/C in it?

We were running those slicks at 12psi and 11. 5 (the side that plants the hardest will benefit fron having about a half pound more air) When I ran the 1. 68 60' (#2 only) in that truck. The boost hoses popped about the 500' mark (as would happen often) And that was the last run I put on the truck.

What do you have the air gaps on the T-bars set at?

Contrary to peoples beleif on this site, There is no limit to the suspension on that truck, other than tunning it. There was a lot left in suspension tunning when Nowel passed. I am pretty sure we could have gotten that puppy into the 1. 50's with a little more tunning. We only began to sneak up on the suspension tune-up (not enough track time). That truck will be a ten second ride on the squeeze. Even at the current weight.

Keep up the good work HOSS. Make us proud:D

And speaking of a 10 sec truck, Hoss, what is your weight? One thing I've learned, if the HP and weight don't calculate, the speed won't be there. It takes a certain amount of HP to move a given amount of weight at a particular speed. I've watched it work truck after truck. Just like NASCAR, a 1/10 of a sec or 2 mph after you've reached what you think is your max speed, is very, very hard to get. The calculations say it takes 22 HP to gain 1 MPH. Brother, that's a lot. Especially when moving 5 or 6,000 lbs.

Dr. P and his 9 sec truck. With just injectors, no less. I gotta see that one.

I have not wieghed the truck yet so I am not sure. It is all steel and basically complete (including the roll bar and my big a$$)

Both the truck and myself need to go on a diet that is for sure. :D

Close Preston ;), those were my calculations for Jeff's truck to increase from something like 137 to 138 mph. This number would be less for a lower trap speed and more for a higher trap speed at the same weight.

Great Job Hoss. With that MPH, there is 11's all over that truck. Get that launch down and my prediction is 11. 50's-11. 60's. Rock on!! Awesome job!!

Thanks David :D

I hope to get the 60ft times into the 1. 6's soon, then I should be in the 11's quite nicely :D

Thanks for all the support you all have given me!!!!
