Well let first start by saying I have ADHD, a short temper and …well many issues.
My employer’s parent company was bought by a French company that was just bought by the French government.
My employer dropped our insurance so I had to pull $300 for monthly drugs out of pocket. Problem is wife popped the motor in the ford escort so I did not have the cash for a week and half. Then this past week one of the company’s remote sites was having problems so I had to help them out during their local hours. Since they are in Belgium I had to go to the office at 1 AM Eastern Time but still had to cover my shift so I left daily around 5 PM eastern. Now I have not had drugs for 2. 5 weeks, a sever lack of sleep and no patience to speak of.
I realized just how much stuff pisses me off and how much drugs helps my life, example off drugs I have to sleep in the basement, on drugs my wife will speak to me.
So…. on the first day of no drugs I discovered that the faster people think their car is to slower they are required to go.
Mazda Maita convertible, roll cage, big a$$ wing and 5” tach on hood. 15MPH in a 45. Paying more attention to his bad comb (possible worse than the Donald) over flying around in the rearview mirror than road.
I finally have a chance to pass mr midlife crisis, punch it, pull back in front of him but he punched it the same time and rear ends me. Luckily I have ‘radiator repellant’, 12” drop pintle hook that weight about 95#. Well the cops show up, talk to witnesses, and fine captain combover.
About 2 minutes down the road I get stuck behind a 911 doing 20 in the 45. Around this area there is always a radar trap. 911 got pinched.
Second day of no drugs my boss Direct of Info Tech. decides that everyone IT should be able to multi-task a minimum of 3 projects. To prove this she requires us to do daily time sheets, each time sheet should add up to 24 hours. I’m responsible for exchange email, cisco routers & switches, all servers, network security and some admin on the as400. We also use Lotus Notes email and database, but the two servers are managed by 4 people.
Anyway the director hired consultants to monitor us and our daily routine for a week. “to be sure no one is fudging hours or slacking off”. During this week the director worked ‘normal hours’ of 9:30 am to 2:30 PM. I asked what I thought was a simple question in the wrap up meeting…who checked on the directors time? After leaving HR dept. I asked if I could put this meeting on my daily time card, the looks from HR and Director indicted that I might not be able to.
Third day of no drugs dude at works owns Chevy Avalanche and tells people daily it will out pull anything on the planet. He nags me and the other CTD owner for a tag o war. Well I gave in…chain to the pervious described ‘radiator repellant’ and he tied off to the corner of bumper…near the rocker panel. Hmmmm…. fun is about to happen. I got in the truck put in neutral and stand on the brakes. He drops in drive and punches it. Insert laugh here.
Fourth day…. well I’ll wait to see if any of ya’ like this before I add more.
