Man,609Hp,I wouldve liked to seen those Ford huys faces when the ancient 12V came up on boost and put out that run. I bet there jaws were on the ground. I bet that truck can lay rubber at will, just rolling on in 4th and 5th-congratulations Joe.

I didn't have time to look at egt's; the run only lasts a couple seconds once power comes up so I don't know if the probe will respond fast enough anyway.

I tried a bigger camshaft but it cost 10 hp. Go figure. The stock 215 hp cam seems to be very well designed for our Rams.

I have discussed the clutch many times in the past. Of course it isn't as smooth as an organic clutch, Peter, and why does it seem you are challenging me here? You offer organic and ceramic clutches and you know the organic is smoother but the ceramic holds more torque. As I have said, once you get used to it, the ceramic /brass is smooth enough for daily driving. I'm very happy that a single plate, sprung hub clutch which fits our bellhousing and flywheel will hold all that power. I didn't have the tach probe hooked up most of the time, but torque on the Dynojet was around 1250 in the runs where it was, and actual was probably 1400+. There just isn't enough time and load to build full power in the torque region on the Dynojet.

I think its going to be tough for HVAC to get 609 HP on # 2 Diesel only. Even with TT's. Even if he does, Joe still only runs a single turbo. Joe can't lose. #ad
Nowell has to find another 120 HP? somewhere to match Joe's Dyno numbers on #2 Diesel. I don't know if just more boost will do it. More fuel has got to come from somewhere. Sportbike probably hooked HVAC up with some of his new hand massaged injectors. :-O

Joe, it is not a challenge at all, I sell the same thing as you stated. I do feel it is very important to let everyone know if they use their truck for work, hauling, backing up, ramps, etc. a button clutch might not suit them. There is nothing worse than getting it in and finding out later!!! But I do think that you saying that yours has a little chatter is an understatement. I believe that technology can take us past this matter. Rammers should not have to put up with chatter! Peter

This isn't a clutch tread but to set the record strait... . Here goes I have driven two trucks with the DDD/Sachs brass pucked clutchs as well as my new South Bend. Both clutch chatter if you try and take off in 2nd idling. But my clutch seems to have more peddle pressure than both the DDD/Sachs. I have got used to the pressure and the reving to leave with mine. I am happy with my clutch but would be just as happy with the DDD/Sachs. As far as towing it does take alittle more ability but it can be done w/o any problems.

Joe your the man!!!!!! Where will it ever stop does Sickly have another 100 HP in it?

drawson, both Joe's and ours are about the same thing. What I am tring to do is ster the pot so the designing of these clutches doesn't stop here!! Please don't say you ara satisfied, just content. Make us work harder we CAN make it better. Most of you were not satisfied until you got more horse power, same thing. It is not a competion!!!!!!! Peter

Congratulations, Joe, on your dyno results because in my book they truely are amazing. However it appears the Ford boys weren't all that impressed because they seem more excited by one of their own getting 511 with propane.

Joe is also right about driving with ceramic clutches - it's mainly in the technique. But some are smoother than others. I learned to drive my DRE Sachs with NO chatter at all after a little practice. It's not as smooth as the stocker was, but I think it better fits the personality of the truck - powerful, noisy, vibration, smoke, and an aggressive clutch.
