Hows it going. I had a 95 3500, that was moderately bombed, I had a turned up fuel pump with a custom ground plate, 370 injectors, custom ground delivery valves and westach gauges, 4inch and the list goes on, had plenty of power and almost enough smoke.

Anyways, I have a friend that is going to purchase a 12valve and wants to have his truck set up in a similar fashion. I did almost everything to my truck, except the initial things, which is pretty much the pump modification. I've since learned the angle and what not for cutting the cam plate, however, I'm not sure about adjusting the AFC. And the Star wheel. Which direction on the star wheel and AFC will allow more fuel at low boost. EGT's aren't our biggest concern, as dumb as that sounds. The truck will have gauges installed at the same time and won't be used for towing. Essentially what my friend is looking for is power and smoke.

Any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

thanks Sean.

I'm looking for a truck 4x4 under 110k. let me know what you got and if you're willing to part with it.

PS. this is what the alphabet would look like without Q and R

Top of the star wheel toward the engine, this is counter-clockwise rotation, this will move the star itself toward the front of the engine. When I do my initial set-up, I slide the AFC full forward then adjust my star wheel 1 full turn off the spring. On my truck this gives me good initial fueling and a momentery blast of black smoke until spool up.

Hope this is helpful and good luck.

You may want to replace your AFC bolts with M-6 socket heads for future ease of adjustment while you are in there playing.

Thanks for the input guys. Now this raises another question, would you suggest moving the AFC itself, or just adjust it's screw. I'm just asking this because I've heard that is another way of adjusting it. I've just heard that moving it takes more time. But if its worth it I'll do it. Sounds like it is but a little input would be nice.

Thanks again, Sean

Do you mean sliding the AFC housing forward? All this involves is loosing the 4 bolts and you know how the AFC housing bolt holes are slotted, slide it forward.

Scott

Yeah thats what I thought, that it was as simple as it sounds. But I had heard someone say that it was more difficult. I just didn't ask how. But anyway, sounds easy enough.

Still looking for a truck 12v or 24v or maybe 3rd gen. Thanks

the only thing that could be considered hard at all is the break off screw. just put a T-15 in and impact wrench and it comes right off. I didn't have this however and just drilled it a touch bigger and pounded a screw driver style T-15 into it and know it goes in and out easy as can be.
