Welcome aboard! I was exactly like you, I was reading the forum every day, and finally got off my butt a couple weeks ago.

Just the stock plate forward...
New plate, etc etc on it's way.

It's always been my opinion that if a manufacturer came out with a pickup with a tip out front end, they would be swamped with buyers. Think of how easy maintainence would be (lift pump, fuel filter, fuel return lines, etc. ). Oh well, I can dream, can't I?

I have looked and looked at mine wishing there was some way to do it, but it would be WAY too hard. but just think... it would be a breeze to change fuel filters and work on the fuel pumps and on and on!! oh well! #ad

Welcome Jim, really love the country where you live, some of the most beautiful on earth. One thing I've really liked about some of the Mercedes Benz that I've worked on is that the hood will fold back to the same angle as the windshield by just flipping a couple of latches on the hinges. Wish other manufacturers would catch on.

It's about time you got your buttox registered!! #ad

Welcome...

Now Todd just needs to get on here and we will have three whole Moab Utah members. Is that enough to start a Utah chapter??? hehe...

Ditto to getting off one's butt! I've been reading this site for several months and finaly got around to sending my $35.

I've gotten a lot of help already. I'm a shade-tree wanabe mechanic. I don't go in too deep due to limited time available. I do my own service and most light repairs. I have a factory manual as well as a Haynes. I'll probably retire within the year and will have more time to do some of what I'd like to do now.

I'm new to the Cummins (bought it from a widow lady in January), but I'm not new to diesels. I drove a 1969 220D Mercedes from 1969 until 1977. I had a 1983 Chevy 6. 2L Heavy Half from 1986 until 1999. I pulled a 31' Airstream all over the west with it with little trouble (except for the lack of power). I'm looking forward to my first pull with the Cummins. Only thing I dread is backing the 34' Airstream into my RV stall beside my house with the 5 speed. It's been a long time since I've driven a manual transmission truck.

I'm going to include my signature if I can figure out how to do it-- well, I just tried to figure that out and can't find how to do it so will copy it in the body of this message. Sorry about that.
