Competition Ever have any weight stolen at a pull?

Competition Unlocked TC on dyno

Guys if you go do the SETDR site, ( setdr.org )in the Discussion area, you will see three pics of the STP Dakota.

We'll try to get more up soon. At last meeting Jeff is planning to attend Muncie with both the Dakota and the Drag truck.

I'd like to see some pics of that thing doing a burnout... or a donut... . and more pics of the undercarriage and one showing how close the oil pan is to the ground... .

Interesting that it doesn't seem to sag in the front..... even with an engine that weighs probably 400# more than the OEM... .

Matt

Matt,

The oil pan is custom made and was very close to the ground before the front end changes. Jeff had to add 2500 coil springs to the front end. This still did not leave much for comfort so Jeff added coil over shocks. As you can see the stance is basically stock with this setup.

The Dakota has some serous traction problems with the factory open diff but Jeff is putting in a posi unit ASAP. Even with the traction problems, he was running 8. 6 sec 1/8 mile @ 84 mph. Enough to beat the Ford Lightenings at the track. There is still much tuning room left in the motor.

C ya,

WOW!

That is just way to freaken cool!!!

Looks Stock... ...

Man I would love to get one of these. Says he got the posi in today too.

Andrew- still partial to the old

I wouldn't buy one all made up... . but I certainly wish I had the time/bread to do the swap myself... . :)

This is one sweet setup, though... very well done.

Matt

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT HOLESHOT IT IS REALLY

HARD FOR SOMEONE TO UNDERSTAND JUST WHAT AN

So when is it going to the strip?

What power level do you have the 12v setup for?

The 4100lb weight you said... ... was anything removed to intentionally drop weight? (not sure what they weigh completely stock).

I would LOVE to have that truck... favorite color and all.

THIS IS A DAILY DRIVER, HOWEVER IT HAS ALL THE GAUGES

OPERATING, AC COMPRESSOR AND ALL .

THIS IS NOT REALLY ALL THAT HARD TO DO. I INSTALLED

ALL OF THE SENSORS SUCH AS OIL PRESSURE WATER TEMP

IN THE DIESEL.

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON SINCE THE FACTORY

COMPUTER WAS USED TO OPERATE THE DASH.

I REMOVED THE BULB , SO WHEN YOU GET IN AND FIRE

IT UP THE INTERIOR LOOKS THE SAME DOWN TO THE FUEL

GAUGE AND WIPER DELAY!

THE ENGINE IS COMPLETELY NEW

HX-40

MARINE 370 INJ PUMP

370 INJECTORS

ELECTRIC PUSHER PUMP

34 DEGREES INJ TIMING

SUNCOAST TRANSMISSION

SUNCOAST TORQUE CONVERTOR

CUSTOM VALVE BODY WITH LOCKUP

IN ALL FOUR GEARS WITH A FLOOR

RACHET SHIFTER!

THIS TRUCK HAS NOT BEEN LIGHTENED AT ALL

IT STILL HAS THE SPARE TIRE!

ALSO I USED THE STOCK GAS TANK

CONVERTED TO DIESEL.

Have you ran enough fuel yet to get an estimate on milage?

Just curious.

The more I look at the truck. . the more I like it/want one. Great job... ... .

You have to run it at least once at the strip??? ;) Please? LOL

Went to the strip last night

Jeff and I went to an 1/8 mile track last night. Truck did really good. Was running 8. 4's - 8. 5's at around 85 - 86 mph. That about 1 sec slower in the 1/8th mile than the 11 sec (1/4 mile) Drag truck. Not to bad.

Currently Jeff is running without an intercooler. Jeff is probably at about 385hp right now, he has focused most of his efforts into getting the little things worked out, not adding more power, YET. If I got these numbers wrong Jeff, jump in here. ;)

I drove the Dakota yesterday and it is a total blast. I've driven some stout Rams of Jeff's, but this Dakota is just awesome. If ya got the guts, after you have barked third gear and your foot is planted, you are outrunning the speedometer in a big time hurry. 60 to 110 in NO TIME!!! :--)

Jeff also did a 150 mile trip and logged 31 MPG. No joke!! At 70 mph, the boost guage is barely off zero. The truck is barely working.

You guys wanted more pics. I have them and will get them up ASAP. I got a few mpgs that I will try to get up too doing burnouts.

Later guys,

Did I read correctly that this truck will be at Muncie?????????

Woohoo, can't wait to see this close up.

Looks real sweet in the pics. Must have been a pretty topugh engineering job to make just about everything fit.

Great job!
