Well Garmon just may have started something here... .....

Riding with Mitchell and Piers is way cool- but unless they roll it, it won't be the wildest ride"EVER"!!!

I will have to put ina request... ..... :D

Well here a few months ago (just after the wreck), there were a few pictures of the DAK. I think they were on the DTR. Does anyone know where they might be?

The pictures are right here... . now no one can ever say i never gave back to the TDR:p

I was in this same situation one time and I just reached up and turned of the key, not nearly as exciting but an option anyway ;)

DRAG DIESEL,

There was a pic of it upside-down in the field. You wouldn't happen to have it aswell either.

Thanks for the pic you do have.

Jared, my reaction too until I got to the shop, saw where it happened, remembered giving identical rides (minus the wrecking part) and thinking just how quick it all happned. That little Dakota was running mid 7's in the 8th at over 92 mph. Not a lot of time to weigh options when you have a 18 wheeler trailer, a light pole, a tree, a and a 10 foot wide hole to fit through.

The Dakota never actually did a full flip, it went from it's wheels to it's top. He was lucky indeed and I still miss the dang thing!!! We had just added a little extra power to make it 1st and last 11 second pass. I'll just have to settle with teh 12. 08's.

I thought about that before I posted, I'm not a drag racer but would think your 60' would be 2 seconds or less and with a rolling start your probably only a second or so to 60 mph, and I certainly have never seen the location where the accident happened. My post was not intended as a cut to Jeff, more as a reminder to others. If these things are in the front of your mind instead of the back of your mind when something bad happens you are much more likely to think of that option.

Again, no matter how it was worded I did not intend it as an insult and I hope it wasn't taken that way.

BTW that was a very neat rig and I was sorry to see it gone. What's next? :D ;)

I wasn't offended Jared and no apology is needed. Many have asked the same thing just you and I did. Jeff had his pump run away in the same place last year and he just slammed it into neutral. It was just one of those bad things...

Fortunatly, no one was hurt. The Passenger worked for the power company and got the power relay fixed quickly and thanked Jeff for the Wildest Ride EVER!!!

Thankfully, you were also on the East coast where the word "sue" didn't immediately come up. :p

floor mats = EVIL! can't tell you how many people I know (including myself) who've fallen victim to the pedal getting hung up at WOT... that was the last day any of my cars had floor mats in them.

sorry to hear about the truck. glad everyone came out alright though!

Any more dakotas running around with a Cummins in them? Thought I would bring this back to the top. That would have been a hell of a ride...

Jeff said no more dakota's in his life. Just is not enough brakes there. But it was fast, and in todays world, underpowered.

. . Preston. .

Only 2 that I know of. The one from Banks and mine . . . . .

Mine doesnt do 202 mph and the Banks one isnt a 4x4 with a solid axle conversion
